It was a little run down.
A smoke free room that smelled like tobacco smoke.
The staff was friendly and the hotel was very attractive with a very clean pool. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. They also had a very good breakfast upstairs in a cozy restaurant.
I would have preferred to stay in the main building rather than in the annex across the street. But I would not let that deter me from staying there again.
It was clean
Placed me in smoking room. This was really bad. The smell was so intense my nostrils burned when I breathed. I opened the outside window which provided some help but made the room hot!! This was not a good experience. tough luck huh.
Didn't have to stay in the main, smoke-filled hotel building, but in an annex.
Room smelled like urine. Swimming pool is in the middle of the smoky casino. Didn't seem fit to be even a 2.5 star hotel.
The fact that we paid the same price as if we'd walked in off the street. You even suggested we should offer a higher price.
The rooms were around the outside if the casino, and you could hear the casino during the night.
Very nice hotel and good continental breakfast
It didn't have bed bugs - that was a plus!
This hotel is a 'joint'. I've been in many hotels but this was BY FAR the worst one ever! Will not be staying here again.
Rooms were nice and clean.
Casino was smokey. Employees smoking on the stairs?
The staff did a wonderful job of answering all of our questions. Annex quite nice and comfortable.
We were in the annex across the road from the main building and the Casino.
The layout of the main building and Casino is a little strange with the swimming pool in the casino area and the restaurant upstairs. We could notice the smoke in the restaurant, however it was not overpowering due to the lack of patrons in the casino.
Nice hotel for Ely, NV. People there were very nice. Has a small casino on premises, which we did not use. Smoking is allowed generally at casino's in NV. We had smoke-free room, and did not notice any smoke smell in it. Good spot for visitors to Great Basin NP, about an hour or so away. Not much else close to the park, except what is available in Ely.
Clean, reasonably priced, nice staff. Worked well for our family of 4.
Our room was in the annex across the street from the main hotel. Crossing the street to get to the main hotel (pool, breakfast) was dicey at best - a stoplight would have made it much safer.
I knew there was a casino in the hotel, but I didn't realize it was in the center of all the rooms. The whole place smelled of smoke when we arrived, but was not bad in the morning. Glad I asked for a non-smoking room, which was clean and did not smell.
The hotel is located centrally in Ely. Easy access in and out.
Smoke, all the rooms were accessed through the casino so you were bathed in cigarette smoke everytime you left your room.
Nice and quiet
Went to go in the jacuzzi, but it was too cold to stay in, staff said they couldn't turn the heat up. Took 20 minutes to get warm, and it was indoors.
You could stay in the hotel all day and night. There was a lot to do and food was good there too!
The part of the hotel we stayed in included a casino and the ventilation did not clear out the cigarette smoke.
In Nice Area
Rooms Good-Free Breakfast not very good as advertised. Coffee cups 3-4 oz-hot food cold. Hotel is over priced I feel Prices in Ely are monopolized by scarcity, but should be better overall to ask for prime costs per day-regardless.
we were put in the annex across the street away from the noise - this was more comfortable
Location was good.
Swimming pool was right next to the casino so it was smoky and out in the middle of everyone.
Very charming mini-casino with pool and hot tub in the central atrium area. Excellent free breakfast. Very convenient.
According to the hotel staff Priceline put you in the worst section, a l a smoking room. We were required to pay more to change location but the hotel staff was kind and let us stay in the better section, for the same price we paid Priceline
The location was ok and the staff was friendly.
The room smelled like cigarette smoke and the ice machine and soda machine were 'out of order'.
Safe place to stay! The room was nice, the casino was interesting.
Some of the desk staff were 'brain dead' and totally inattentive.
refrigerator and microwave in room
Smoking permitted everywhere. We could even smell it in our non smoking room
Spacious rooms. Clean. Comfortable beds. Free continental breakfast is better than most. We stayed across the street in the annex (the rooms in the main building overlook the small casino). Non-smokers will want to do the same. The Italian restaurant is very good - the pizza is fabulous.
I chose this place more or less at random for a business trip. It is unremarkable as a motel (except for the extraordinary surrounding mountain views): bed, room, breakfast buffet, were all perfectly acceptable. The staff (and I had to deal with several different folks for help with various issues -- directions, etc.) were, without exception, enormously pleasant and helpful. Probably not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues, as the lobby, restaurant and pool are across a somewhat busy highway from the building where the rooms are located. I had a problem with internet access.
This motel is good for what it is; a motel offering a room for the night. The motel was inexpensive and I was hesitant to peal back the sheets and climb in. The matresses, linen, furniture, carpets, T.V., appear to have been put in service in the 60s and haven't been changed since then. I slept on top of the linens, showered and left the next morning.
We knew this was going to be basic accommodation but given the price of the room we thought it would be acceptable. Our room was right off the casino - across from the change desk. We had an upgraded room - there was no other choice. The place reeked of smoke, the room was dingy and the person at the front desk aloof. The place was so bad we left without staying and drove 5 hours to another city.
It was a cozy place to stay. Check in was easy and they were very friendly. They had coffee in the lobby 24/7. The resturant Evah's was good. It's just a place for a little gambling and sleep.
This hotel is actually split into two properties on either side of the road. One has exterior corridors. I had to upgrade to a suite with a kitchen for a one night's stay just to get a non-smoking room. Restaurant was OK; very basic Italian food.
