needs complete make over bathroom out dated, patch work done,
The front desk staff were cordial. Refrigerator and microwave worked well.
My recent stay at Ho Jo's in Florence SC was inadequate. Both the room and service were subpar. The room had an odor dirty carpet.Sink was damaged and the bathtub looked dirty as if it wasn't cleaned in weeks. The covers on the beds had cigarette burns on it
It was dirty, AC barely worked. Huge crack under the door, so we heard lots of outside noise. The dining hall was dirty. The only positive was the cook/waitress.
First floor and quiet
Breakfast was not worth the time also homeless men were inside eating breakfast..access for everybody..no locks on doors
First floor and quiet
Breakfast was awful..homeless men were allowed to eat breakfast..unlocked doors..not safe
Holes in the wall, the tub knob was broken.
Location, nice garden.
Dampness of carpet and bathroom floor
Right off the highway!
Much in need of repairs......Breakfast room was a mess....the breakfast employees were not very friendly
Rooms were nice and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant. Location right off the highway. Beautiful lobby.
Water stains on the ceiling. The breakfast was pretty bad. Dirty area where it was served. There were a lot of dingy parts of the hotel, almost as if it had previously been flooded.
They had a pet friendly policy.
It was extremely run down. The toilet ran all night and could not be stopped. I believe drug deals were going on outside.
Average price for October. Seems to be in a safe area
Free breakfast. Food was not replenished quickly. Eggs left in pan were cold, orange juice was warm. Bagels and coffee creamer ran out. No one was monitoring the area, food on floor and counters.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
When I first walked in, the radio was playing, blinds wide open , roaches crawling, small bathroom with dim light.
The location to the city and shopping.
The room smelled like marijuana, that was my only complaint.
Staff was very nice and even ask to change my room for me to be in the inside unit due to the fact I was traveling alone.
The hotel is old but the rooms are clean. Only thing was the high volume of women around the hotel.
Nothing. Very dirty
The breakfast was horrible, the room was dirty, and the pillows were the size of a hand towel.
The front door would not close properly. They were having a party in the room next to us. We felt very unsafe. The bathroom light did not work. The door handle on the bathroom was held together with tape. The room smelled like paint.
Beautiful lobby. Some remodeling going on and desk did not know which rooms were ready. Worked out ok after some trial and error.
filling out required field. All was fine.
Close to highway. Lots of places to eat nearby. Pet friendly.
Somewhat outdated. Could use a renovation.
No rooms on ground floor and no elevator to second floor was a hardship for persons with leg problems. Breakfast room was a hike from reception and eggs were served cold.
It had roaches We ask for extra wash clothes, the lady was rude about it
When I arrived I was told that the only rooms available were doubles when I booked a king. Then the only king they had was a pet room which I'm allergic to animal dander. The receptionist was not very nice or empathetic and acted add if she didn't want my
The room we stay in the carpet was dirty, mildew on the shower toilet wasn't working properly, the bed cover was dirty.
Breakfast was a nice surprise. Waitress was very nice.
It needs some updating.
The pool, and breakfast
Everything was great
The location of the hotel was great. That is about the only positive thing I could say about it.
The room looked like it came from the 50's and I didn't really feel safe. There was broken glass for a window in the parking lot.
Not a thing, room was dilapidated and falling apart. Hotel and Priceline don't seem to care. Going to BBB for resolution.
Everything! Ceiling was falling apart, window was rotting out of frame, sink faucets not attached to sink.
First room, air conditioner taken apart, pieces everywhere. Second room, previous occupants stuff all over. Third room, dirty, wall paper peeling, mold in bathroom and holes in bathroom wall.
The bed was comfortable. Easy access to the highway
The building was old and disgusting. I found cockroaches in the dining room.
New bedding flat screen TV and great AC that is about it! Pool was clean but lacked furniture! Breakfast was ok eggs sausage grits cereal toast! Some fruit!
Outside really run down!!! Front door to our room would barely open! Need more help for breakfast kept running out of food people just standing around!
Were my room was.
The staff was very helpful! I was traveling alone so they gave me a room in the main building to ensure my safety and peace of mind!
Limited pool chairs for sun-bathing.
The staff were wonderful.
The entire room and bathroom had been painted with some kind of coating. whoever did it did a terrible job. They even painted the sink and tub with it and it looked like dirt and hair stuck in it, like they hadn't dusted, or wiped things down first.
Nice room Nice pool Good breakfast.
Breakfast staff didn't keep food at the buffet. Got the wrong room twice but was upgraded.
room was nice and clean...staff was friendly
The property was really run down.Old and needs a lot of updating. Was surprised that Howard Johnson's would allow their property to be in such poor shape. The dining room just looked dirty because it was in such poor repair. A 'B' from the health dept.
Flat screen TV, updated comforters and bedding, clean feeling.
Bathroom tub could use a little touch up but I was comfortable enough to let my little ones soak in the tub.
Hotel allowed pets and had ample parking for large trucks.
We were given a voucher for breakfast stating the hours for breakfast was 6:30 to 9:30. We arrive at 9am. As we walked in the host looked at his watch and said we only had a minute or two and he would fix us something but they were closing.
didn't know they take pets. Seems like quite an old property that new caretakers are trying to bring back to life. Convenient to I95, Fats Cafe across street was recommemded and was good
Breakfast better than average - cooked to order. Good shower and towels.
Outdated tv and room. Difficult to plugin electronics. Tub leaked. Toilet ran, but was fixed when requested.
Staff was very nice - room was clean.
The location was great - old and shabby looking outside. We had no water when we arrived and when it was fixed, the water was brown! Continental breaskfast in building next door was uninviting to say the least.
Hote was fine for the price however the surrounding environment was not good for the family.
This hotel looked nice on the websites, but once you get there you learn otherwise. We were supposed to have a non-smoking room, but the room smelled of cigarettes. The smoke detecter would go off from the steam from the shower. The light above the vanity stopped working. The hot water was shut off for repairs without notifying us first. On the walk over to the pool, noticed many broken windows in the other rooms, and the rooms were vacant with no furniture. Maybe they are planning on remodling...which is definately needed. Afraid to leave our items in the room while we were gone...afraid it wouldn't be there when we got back. I will definitly do more research next time and pay more for a better hotel!
The motel was terribly run down, was dirty, and the clientle was questionable. The two star rating needs to be changed.
We stayed here on December 22,2010. We were disappointed in the room and service. Look somewhere else for a room
The room was a nice size and clean. For their complimentary breakfast, we had to walk outside in the cold to the next building. They advertised a 'hot' breakfast.....eggs, grits, meats were cold. They need to have the food on warmers so we can actually eat the food.
I arrived at the hotel late and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room however left little to be desired. It wreaked of smoke, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls everywhere, even wih all the lights on the room was dim, the previous person left a cooking pan, which was filthy and the the smoke detector was broken hanging from the wall chirping every 30 seconds. The staff offered another room in the main building, which was nice, compared to the rooms on the site. The room was upstairs with no elevator, the lights in the room did not work. At this point, I am exhausted and requested a refund. The manager and staff were very apologetic and offered a room with a single bed, which would not have worked in my situation. There was another customer at the desk stating that the room he was given had not been cleaned. He was handed necessiities to care for his needs. UGH!
This was not a clean hotel at all. The pictures on the site and the nice lobby area suggest something much different from what we experienced in the room. It was dirty. The furniture was old and broken down. The breakfast, however, was a nice surprise. They had a full hot breakfast with eggs, grits and sausage.
