Abbey Lodge is a hospitable bed and breakfast in the centre of Galway City. Located beside the greyhound race track and across the road from the picturesque Lough Atalia we are not five minutes walk from Eyre Square, the heart of Galway City. The city s many attractions are at on your door step. From the recently renovated Eyre Square, down the charming shopping districts to the historic churches and cathedral, Galway is welcoming and friendly. With a plethora of bars, cafes and restaurants Galway is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and lively night life. A mere 15 minute walk is Salthill Promenade and beaches but further afield there are numerous day trips to the Burren and Aran Islands allowing you to experience the beauty of Clare and Connemara at your leisure. The majority of these trips leave from the tourist office at the end of College Road, just two minutes from our front door.
Room, bed, shower, etc. grand, computer and internet available which was good.
Small table in room would be useful to work on. Car park is on a hill and spaces angled and felt rather tight but as the hotel was not full this was less of a problem than it might have been had the hotel been full.
internet en libre accès
Good location, fantastic breakfast. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Nice place. For the money I paid I cant imagine getting much better. I would recommend it
Internet didnt work. T.v was right up against the ceiling, very difficult to see properly
The staff was very nice and the breakfast was great.
The shower barely had any pressure and the room was only so so. As with most hotels in Galway, I thought it was over priced for the accommodation.
The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was home-made and the woman in charge was friendly.
The house was farther outside the city centre than I thought it would be, well past the other B&B's on that road. No one was at the house to meet us, so we had to ring the buzzer and let ourselves in after getting the code for the door. This was fine, but we had some questions regarding buses, things to see, etc., and it woud have been nice to speak to the person at the house. Also, our room faced the street so it was very noisy at night.
