The staff were very pleasant. Dining experience was very nice.
Some of the furniture was worn. When I arrived front desk did mention that they will be doing updating. Clock radio was not set to correct time.I liked this hotel very much. I was there by myself and the staff in the restaurant made me feel very comfortable. Food was very good. I highly recommend this hotel.
Loud air conditioner, weird valence arrangement above the bed, sparse decoration, sparse amenities in room.A 'cougar' hotel - getting on in years but still trying to look good. Needs some upgrade and modernizing, bathrooms old looking, rooms are sparsely decorated and the decoration that was there was strange. (Some sort of strange valence-thing above the bed, looks incomplete) Decent King-size bed, two pillows provided, should have been more. No refrigerator. Ice is not readily available on every floor. Air conditioner retrofit was annoyingly noisy, drowning out the television. No music station available free of charge on in room television. An OK place to stay if you want to experience 'faux elegance' on Long Island.
The hotel was terribly dated, the staff was unhelpful, except for room service. The pool area was cold and uninviting. We will not return to this hotel.
The lobby and lounge are beautiful.
The rooms need to be renovated (especially the bathroom).I feel that the price per night does not positively reflect the quality of the rooms. However the service and staff were very courteous and professional and the location is great (heart of garden city, stones throw from many popular restaurants and bars).
Luxury flavor, Warm swimming poolIt was a great hotel. The outlook and entrance gives
Wonderful staff members! Andrew was the first person I encountered, and he was both welcoming and efficient during check-in. The staff at this hotel was always at the ready to help the guests.Truly spacious room with a firm, very comfortable bed. There is ample storage with a large chest of drawers and a good-sized coat closet. I appreciated the cocktail table with magazines from the area and a nice sitting area with couch and chair to read. The temperature can be easily adjusted to make it comfortable. There was a teeny bit of wear on the rooms, but nothing that could not be easily overlooked. The Business Center is on the lower level, sharing that space with a hair salon. The BC computers are accessible with a credit card. It appears that a lot of airlines use this hotel to accommodate their pilots and attendants, which is just a point of interest. The ones I shared the lobby and elevators with were friendly and interesting people. It was a safe, comfy p...
The staff was amazing. They really cared about my needs.
Room service was slow.
Nice setting, near shops and restaurants. When we checked in we're offered a free upgrade to the penthouse with our own private roof patio. We needed to stay a second night and again got a free upgrade. Nice fitness center and pool.
Very quiet area away from the noise of NYC and the airports. The hotel is near a beautiful boulevard with older mansions lining it. Garden City downtown is within walking distance with many shops and restaurants.
Older air conditioning system on wall of each room, noisy as usual with these fans. The hotel does have smoking floors, as we were initially put on one and had to relocate.Garden City Hotel is a very nice property in a beautiful area of Long Island. A train station is available right across the street for convenient access into the city.
I did not have a chance to relax or like anything about the hotel. I was to upset with Front desk clerk Andrew, who did not seemed interested in getting me a room. I had reservation since Aug. 18.
I got to the hotel and was told that I did not have a room and would have to wait and was told I would have to wait for a room to be clean. I got to the hotel around 5:35pm. It was not until I asked for a refund and called Priceline then I rec'd a room.I would never book at this hotel again.
