It was a great location. The breakfast was delicious. The pool and sauna were nice. Enjoyed the balcony.
Very disappointed since it had good reviews. Our room had a strange smell. We didn't feel very welcome. Most of the attention was given to the guests from the Viper convention. We felt like we were wasting their time whenever we had questions or needed something. After we arrived, we tried to sit in the restaurant and were told that there wasn't room for us because of the group and when we asked if we could just have a beer and sit on the patio she said we would be waiting a long time till they served us. How long does it take to pour a beer? So we left and went into town. The next morning after breakfast we went to use the sauna but couldn't open the door and thought maybe there was a key so my husband asked. She curtly said the sauna is not open until the afternoon and then said not even 5 star hotels have their sauna open at this hour - which is not true. We've stayed at many places and the posted hours of operation include all the amenities. On our tour she told us she wouldn't charge us for using the sauna because of the visiting group. But why should we be flattered, arent we paying guests after all? Overall it was disappointing as we felt like we were second class guests.
Friendly, charming staff Adjoining sun porch (Wintergarten) with beautiful mountain views Great restaurant serving home-cooked meals -- superb breakfast Quiet location in Grainau -- a bit removed from the action in Garmisch, but great for views and access to the Zugspitze Very dog-friendly Spacious room with nice furniture and decor The small fridge was much appreciated
Bed wasn't the most comfortable.
Dogs everywhere, even saw one go in the kitchen. Service at dinner was not good.
The friendly staff, the good rooms, breakfast
very kid and pet friendly
A wonderfully friendly atmosphere, in a quirky, delightful building, with good access and in very pretty surroundings.
Not really enough parking spaces for guest's cars.
The location was very scenic and convenient.
The hotel and staff were very good, however, the smell when you enter the hotel is very overpowering from the dogs that are also guests. I must have missed the small print.
You feel yourself at home. I liked a lot the atmosphere around you with all those wooden things which compliment your stay. It is also nice to have pets with you . The dogs are well kept and they are treated with respect. Keep it up!
Directions on how to get there would have been useful. It is a bit complicated from the centre of Grainau but very simple if you take the closest turn off the main road from Garmisch (which does not in fact say 'Grainau' but something like 'Obergrainau')
Our room has a wonderful nice view of the Alpine peaks. The hotel place is on the rage of Gainau and very near to Gaimisch-Partenkirchen. The free parking place, public region internet connection and the very friendly staff. We would like to live there again next time.
If the internet can be severiced in every room, that will be perfect!
This small hotel is beautifuly located on the edge of Grainau village with stunning views of the mountans. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed a small balcony overlooking the garden. Breakfast was excellent although we were surprised to find several dogs in the breakfast room. They were well behaved though and we soon got used to them. All in all a lovely hotel - with an excellent dinner.
For the money they charged it could not be faulted.
Lovely small mountain village atmosphere, service with personal touch
