NO SMOKING? The room must have been smoking if the guests are not allowed to! Hard to navigate the main corridor in the morning with all the housekeeping carts strewn about. If checkout is 11:00, start cleaning until after 11:00!Probably won't stay there again. You have to pay extra for a fridge AND microwave. $10 each per night? SAD! I guess that's what happens when you try to save a few bucks, lower standards?
No elevator!! Staff double charged me! Rooms old and in desperate need of updating. Hallways dark...lights out...wall paper torn. This hotel was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. It was so obvious that the hotel hadn't invested money in any upgrades or improvements for 20+ years. I felt like I was in a time warp...and not a good one. The fact that there wasn't any elevator was so discouraging as my wife suffers from bad knees, and a trip up the stairs is very painful to her. They also wouldn't give us a room downstairs. I paid for the room using priceline, but the attendant at the desk not only charged me again (over XXX) for my room, but she also double charged me for my son's room that I also booked on priceline. Hudsonville doesn't have a big choice of hotels, but if I was going back tot his area I wouldn't stay here...it would be worth driving farther to get a good, clean, contemporary room.
