The resort staff made us feel right at home and were very accomodating. The rooms in the main lodge were very rustic. We walked into our room and the walls and ceilings were wooden. The floor was carpeted. It was cozy. I felt like I was in a log cabin. My husband loves to golf and played all three courses. I don't suggest eating at the lodge very often. Our breakfast was terrible. The lunch was good as long as you were looking for hamburgers, sandwiches, etc. We found the area had some nice little quaint restaurants. Staff and members of the golf club were very willing to share dining places. Very happy with the results. Locals were very friendly and helped make our stay very comfortable. It was like home away from home.

Our party of three requested a handicapped room, for my 92-year old mom who uses a walker and has limited eyesight. When we arrived, we had a room on second floor--no elevators. The front desk gentlemen who checked us in was awesome in getting us a different room, and we were able to also add a rollaway bed, since they didn't have two queens. Room and handicapped bathroom were clean, spacious, shower was excellent. Dining room had good meals and friendly service, prices were good. Nice greens for golfers; safe and convenient parking. Will probably return in the future!

easy to find

1. Over priced. 2. Used too much bleach in cleaning room. 3. No way to call into room from outside. 4. WiFi speed a joke.

Better places up the road.

The staff was very friendly.

Location, sheets, shower, breakfast all poor

It was not the pumpkin colored walls and ceiling being paired with chartreuse trim, nor the poly blend sheets, nor the shower head spraying every direction but towards me, nor the grand view of run down homes that really pushed me over the edge. The deal breaker was the wretched breakfast. Perhaps I should have assumed it would match the room, but I did not expect undercooked biscuits, waffle batter so thick it could not be cooked fully, eggs so dry and flavorless I wished they had been mixed from a powder, and coffee a gas station would be embarrassed to serve. Should I find myself in the area again, I think I will make the drive to Asheville.

We were greeted by a note on the door, at 7:17PM when we arrived from the other side of the state, telling us the owner had 'retired' for the evening, that I owed him State sales tax which could be settled in the morning, and breakfast was from 8am to 9:30am. The note wasn't helpful in finding our room, since we were left to do so on our own. Another couple arrived a few minutes before us and had to call the innkeeper for directions to their room. He only spoke w/them by phone and never came out to help us. The mattress never indented when we layed down on it. It was like sleeping on a mattress pad, over sheet of plywood on top of concrete blocks. We arrived downstairs for breakfast the next morning at 9AM, after my freezing shower and my husband's scalding shower, to find the breakfast buffet practically gone. There was a bottle of syrup but nothing to pour it on. The egg casserole was gone save dried egg in the corner of the pan. We had individual boxes of kid's cereal and cold biscu...

This hotel is outdated and dirty- multiple people staying there would walk in to their rooms and end up having massive sneezing attacks, myself included. The leader of reservations is rude and unhelpful

This hotel was probably nice circa 1975. Now it is old and outdated. The curtains don't shut all the way in any room, we had to paperclip them together. The AC is loud and blows directly on the bed, making it impossible to sleep and the pillows are as comfortable as sacks full of gravel. Housekeeping comes knocking at 8am unless you put out the do not disturb sign, which is mostly worthless because you can still hear them screaming at other doors and their walkie talkies are on max volume. The floor is uneven and creaks terribly- it sounds like a herd of elephants running down the hall any time someone moves outside. The head of reservations hated that we booked via priceline and tried to force us to cancel our reservations and rebook with them- sans discount...

We visited Shel and Deb, for the ump-teenth time, on the weekend of August 4, 2012. It has become one of our family's vacation traditions! Either on a long weekend away, or on a half-way break from the long car ride to our SC beach destination, we have come to anticipate a stop at Oak Hill on Love Lane as a very happy part of our family trips. We cannot thank you enough for your flexibility in accommodating our discriminating ('picky') palates on this last trip! We think the Baked Oatmeal with Fruit that Deb made for the girls was the envy of the whole breakfast party, and we intend to put in an order for all of us on our next trip! As always, we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing 'rock on the porch' while watching the sunset against the distinctive background that is only available in Waynesville. Everything was immaculate, welcoming, lush and pristine, as we have come to take for granted. You have spoiled us for any other place! Thank you so much, and love from all of us: Rick, Cathlee...

While the hotel is a little dated on the outside, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The first floor rooms have doors that open onto the pool. I asked for a 2nd floor room with a balcolny so it had only one entrance into the room. It's not that I didn't feel safe, but I didn't like the fact there were two entrances into the room.

The hotel is a little dated but the room was nicely remodeled and decorated. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was ok but the coffee was good. We ended up going to Bojangles and the Waffle House - who can pass that up when it's just down the street! There also is a bar/restaurant right in front of the hotel that had good food/drinks and service.

location was easy for our purposes but not really great for a lot of the things people might do in the Smokey Mountains. The room was clean and presented nicely.

The pool was unkept and not available. For a warm labor day, it's something we might have liked to do.

It was as good as I would expect for one of the cheaper places to stay. The room was very clean and had ample space. There were some other amenities like a big outdoor grill and open space that we didn't have an opportunity to use. The outdoor pool was not available to us on Labor Day which was disappointing - but it is an OK pool as hotel pools go. Continental Breakfast was not overwhelming.

the location

WE asked for adjoining rooms , were told we had them, then when we arrived, did not have adjoining rooms. It was very disappointing.

We ate dinner in the dining room. My friend ordered pasta alfredo and it was made with cheddar cheese instead of parmesan cheese. They had a woman singer in the dining room and she had the microphone up so loud, no one could hear anything anybody said. After I asked, they finaly had her turn the microphone down. It was not a pleasant experience.

The hotel room was kept clean each day by the staff and there were good views of the mountains as you step outside.

The hotel is older, so the door to the room had to be lifted up a few millimeters in order for the door to lock when shutting the door. The light fixtures and a/c were old and one light was unnerving to use because it may have had an electrical problem.

The hotel provided a good experience for the price you get. My expectations were exceeded about the cleanliness and condition of the hotel room, but the hotel is older and has 'character.' They have some nice exercise equipment, such as an exercise bike, but nothing fancy. The pool did not impress compared to other hotels I've visited in the past, so I spent more time walking outside and visiting shops and restaurants. The location in the valley was a big plus with great views and it was very close to a wonderful breakfast only restaurant.

friendly atmosphere of the hotel, closeness to the creek (staff on accommodated us on a room close to the creek Room 107), very quiet, and most of all...the no smoking in the room policy)

Need to upgrade on the washer/dryer. The washer works fine but the dryer need improvement. I had to dry a load twice and still didn't get it completely dry and did not want to waste another--- on drying the same load.

If you want to eat the free breakfast every morning, make sure you arrive early enough...before 8 a.m., because it will only be waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, and some sweet cakes for breakfast...sausages or whatever meat that is cooked for that morning will be gone. When you have kids, they enjoy some variety (especially a teenager). No elevator...so make sure you mention to the staff when making reservations that you would like a room downstairs. The swimming pool is indoors (as soon as you walk in to the lobby on the right)...small but nice.

Prices are either the average per night price per room or first night of stay. You can select to display the prices with or without our estimate of taxes & fees (which may not appear on provider's booking page but will be charged at hotel checkout). Before you complete your reservation, verify the total cost on the provider's site. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car rentals can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
