uniqueness Of place
Walking so far from parking lot to get to room
The whole atmosphere
That your pool closes too early I came with my girlfriend we are an older couple and love to lounge in a pool later in the day after all the kids are gone.
It was a nice place. Staff was friendly.
I could see the elevators being an inconvenience. We were lucky enough to have a room right by the elevator but anyone else had to walk a mile just to get around. It was also odd that there was no coffee pot or fridge in the room.
Was a great value for the stay. Comfy beds and great pillows. Unique view from out door into the casino show area. Check in and out was a breeze with helpful staff. You can walk to a lot of things from here.
The condition of our hotel room bathroom was not what I expected from a hotel in Vegas. Peeling paint, poor shower wall condition (water damage), Musty smelling room. Buffet was nowhere near what I expected from all the hype of Vegas the cost was overpriced for the selection by far.
Loved service , mostly everything was great
Expected a bit more from the room and celieng on 4th floor was a bit dusty .
No room service after 6pm - really weird, not good for being lazy with the old lady.
I loved our suite and since Im military I got upgraded.
Club was closed
1. Rooms not particularly clean, 2. Long checkin - took a good 45-60 minutes in line and check-in. 3. Did not use our credit card on file so when purchasing within the hotel could not charge to the room 4. Rooms not very sound proof and loud music at midnight, plus voices from room next door
Most of the staff were helpful. All the bell hops were outstanding. The front desk staff were not very nice.
The rooms had mold and we're not clean. Need to be cleaned and updated
Casino and theaters were nice. Restaurants had good food and huge portions for the prices. Recommend BackStage Deli.
Inroom a/c was a bit shit, and heard this from a few people in elevators. Alcohol and tobacco prices in shops was a bit steep and this is coming from someone used to paying WA prices for booze and smokes, fortunately there's an AmPm right across the street.
I loved the spacious rooms and the friendly and helpful staff.
It was pretty much the cheapest option I found for a one night stay (road tripping from CO to CA) and I was satisfied with what a got: a safe, mostly comfortable place to sleep.
The room was pretty warm - AC wasn't working as well as I'd like. It was very basic and small... but that's ok cause I was out on the strip all evening! Took at least forty minutes to check in (we got there around 3pm) which wasn't a super fun start to the evening.
Decor very nice
Room we booked was gone when we got there so couldn't stay in non smoking pyramid room also very long line to check in
Price and value for room
Check in is a nightmare. Lines snake through the lobby
air conditioning is VERY important to me, especially in a hot place and the air conditioning SUCKED. It made everything else seem bad.
Decent for the price,
Definitely needs a remodel. It shows that it was built in 1993, the acoustic popcorn ceilings. are dingy, and everything has a lot of wear and tear. Main walkaway carpets worn etc.
The room was getting cool like I wanted, it needs an upgrade with the bathroom, carpet and decor
The best thing about this hotel is the smell in the casino....not like any other casino.
Extremely long wait times to get in touch with front desk on the phone. Poor customer service from front desk on all occasions with several different staff members. Room was not as described and was told they could do nothing about it until the next day. Faulty air condition unit in second room. Bathroom door was broken and of Sewage smell. Day before checking in hotel, got an email asking for any requests; received confirmation email that it was noted at the front desk. Request was non existent and when called about it, front desk staff said they aren't aware of any requests and made no attempt in trying to assist and said they don't do requests. Btw, my request was that on my husbands birthday I'd leave his gift under the bed and once the room steward cleans, she'll just place it on the nicely made bed....that's it! Nothing happened! Why ask if I have any requests and then totally ignore it? Anyway, I've stayed at many hotels before and Luxor unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth; small issues that wasn't resolved; was expecting a lot more out of Luxor being part of MGM brand; what a disappointment. I will never stay at this hotel again.
Probably would not stay again. Pros: Room was very clean and hotel was very nice. Cons: Problems with personnel. Business center not open during morning or afternoon. Finally someone at the desk checked and found a computer where I could print our boarding passes - business center should have posted there wa an alternate locatio. Another instance found the bell desk was rather rude when picking up laundry. Last we had trouble at the LEX night club. The following was texted to the front desk and to a host at the LEX. "As stated last night up until this incident we have had a fun time here. I spent 24 years in the military and now work for the Army so I clearly understand the need for security. It appeared we were the oldest couple in the line. We saw numerous 20 year women go through security without having their purse checked. So when a radom check of my wife purse took place it seemed odd. The refusal to let us in based on legal prescriptions my wife and I require was ridiculous. There were no illegal drugs no weapons or anything that would have been a valid reason for this embarrassing event.... Management needs to be aware of this so that corrective measures can be taken." food and bars are excellent
hotel rooms and hallways showing it's age common areas and lobby excellent
I did not like anything at all.
I hate the way you can look over to the center of the hotel from the halls. I don't think it is safe at all. I was terrified when the put me in a room on the 22nd floor. I refused to stay there and was offered one on the 2nd floor. When I opened my curtains you could see everyone walking by. I felt like they could see me all though they were probably looking at their reflections. The rooms on the 22nd and the 2nd floor were both dark, gloomy and depressing. It rained one night and there was a big puddle of water in the room. It made the room smell gross. I think the staff is rude and I did not appreciate having to pay all the extra fees once I arrived. I thought that paying $280 something was excessive for that caliber of hotel and then I had to pay $75 when I arrived and all that for 2 nights. I have paid way less for much better hotels in Vegas. The bathroom was so small. It only had a small shower without a bathtub. I didn't rest at all since I could here all the outside noise which were drunks being loud and obnoxious. I will never stay there again nor do I recommend anyone stay there. I think it is time to demo the Luxor and build something safer, cleaner and more up to date.
Good location, fairly priced Easy to tell Luxor is an older property on the south end of the strip - but a good value nonetheless
Iron had stain on it - ruined my shirt Luxor has an interesting smell - nothing bad, just an odor that's different
Upkeep is awful.
It was dirty and grimy
Nothing was like it was a horrible experience friend was locked in the room for an hour and had to have security and maintenance break the door open to get him out
I hated the fact the casino took no responsibility and had no compensation for their hotel malfunctioning On top of it they argued with us and caused us to miss our flight making us pay more money just to get home
Room was not what I booked and room was 100 degrees. Air conditioning did not work. Pool closes at 6 pm. Sales reps are all over the casino badgering you into buying time shares.
Bathroom lighting is dark for putting on makeup. Other than that great place for the money. Buffet was also good.
The staff called me a liar when I first got there. They wanted to give me a different room because they rented out the room I had paid for, the lady who checked me in first insisted I rented another room and asked me for proof, luckily I had my phone and was able to proof it to her. She then told me they didn't have any more non smoking rooms and that's why she wanted to give me another room, turns out she was the liar! will not be staying here again.
Very friendly service I called to add my friend to the reservation they were extremely helpful over the phone. The hotel is overall good it's not your fancy Cosmo stay but not janky either. I would say great value for staying on strip.
Definitely the cleanliness. We requested extra towels and some of them still had stains on them. The bathroom vent was so dirty obviously haven't been cleaned in a while.
The front desk employee when I checked in went above and beyond. Did not have any other interaction with staff.
Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Great tables. I stayed here when it first opened and it was awesome. It has gone downhill somewhat. I like how its connected to Mandalay and Excalibur. Its like having 3 casinos in one within walking distance.
I had a pyramid room. The window leaked so a huge area of carpet was wet. There was a small amount of mold around the window frame. Housekeeping pounded on door at 8am. Wanted to know when we were leaving. Check out is 11am. Window cleaners at 9am came sliding down our window on ropes. Rope was banging on the window for 2 hours then two men come sliding down. This was all the day after super bowl.
Good last minute price
Room's airconditioning was not working but was quickly fixed. Bath room was a little shabby.
Price was great.
The rooms were really dim. And the bed and pillows were as comfortable as I would have liked
I was promise to be charged 181 but I was billed for 232 dollars!!! The front desk asked me to pay cash for upgrade just to find out I got charged on my bill
the staff was friendly...
all elevators do NOT feel safe, they say its because it goes sideways but even at that i feel they should not be wobbly and tilting back and forth. the elevators are definitely NOT balanced and is a sue job waiting to happen. rooms are totally outdated and not worth the money.
Bathroom door not working
Pyramid rooms are old and outdated. Suite sofas were very dusty.
The bed was okay
I guess the pyramid is the only shape the wifi can't penetrate. Science.
Opened door to my room and it was so hot, I had to stand in the hall. Called for an engineer to check A/C, no one showed. Called for a bellman to bring new room keys and move me to a new room - no one showed. Finally got checked into new room and learned they don't have WIFI in the room - Whaaaa you say? Only internet in the room is if you're plugged in..I have an iPhone and and iPad. :(
