Car had a shake at highway speeds. There was no windshield washer fluid. Front window was dirty. Paper floor mats left in car. Sanitized sticker left in cup holder.

After my plane was delayed, Hertz decided to give my reserved car away to other people as there was a large conference in town that week. Ended up costing me $500 for an Uber to get to my destination because no other company had cars either. Lady at the counter was useless and made no effort to help me.

Pros:

Pick up, drop off went smoothly, easily. Got a pretty good rate

Cons:

My car was in bad need of a balancing or alignment. I had to constantly work to keep it from pulling left.

I requested full size I was told there were none but I saw Nissan Altima in parking lot when I arrived & when I left Instead I was given dirty Nissan Rogue that I had to clean & wash myself as soon as I left

Pros:

Staff at Midland and Harlingen were both very friendly and attentive. Vehicle was clean and provided a very comfortable ride. Drop-off at Harlingen was super easy; just provided ending mileage, parking location and keys and I was on my way. Receipt emailed to me. Will definitely use National again for future rentals.

Cons:

Everything was great.

Cons:

Van was dirty and paint was on inside of van from house Painter that rented before us. Had to switch to different van. Second van had dog hairs all over the seats. To tired of messing with it to try and get another one.

The customer service at the MAF terminal is abysmal. Literally, non existant. The young lady at the desk was so preoccupied with her report that she had little interest in helping me. If I had the opportunity to recommend a friend to use Alamo, i would first recommend them to walk, or maybe even ride a donkey before I suggested or even hinted at the possibility of using Alamo for a rental car. Suffice it to say, I couldn't be more disappointed in how I was treated as a customer.

Pros:

Place offered a pickup - but then, didn't even know what size it was.

Cons:

I didn't like that I was never even offered roadside assistance and had to pay $70 after waiting two hours for a jump start. I understood the $470 initial fee for out of state rental, but not being charged that entire $470 again for returning it in 31 hours instead of 24. I'll pay a competitor twice as much before dealing with this shiesty company again.

It smelled like cigarettes and had a flat tire they tried to tell me I had to pay to fix. Then charged me a fuel charge after I filled the truck up

Chevrolet Malibu had nice features and was a comfortable ride

Pickup was too long and cumbersome. Price was extremely high was not able to get a receipt at drop off and a receipt has not be emailed to me.

Cons:

The attendant there when I first arrived was annoyed that I would disrupt her free time with my business. Very rude and not hospitable at all. The attendant upon my return was the opposite. Very nice and easy to work with. The vehicle had a broken AC vent but other than that the vehicle was ok.

Paid a taxi to carry me to get my car and they didn't have any cars available. Was told it would be at least 2 days before they had one. Then had to pay to get back to my truck. Shouldn't make a reservation if you don't have cars available!
