Directions To Airport

A number of suitable routes lead right to the airport, so travelers should not have a hard time reaching the airport, regardless of their starting point. The airport entrance is well marked by a large metal monument, so it is hard to miss.

Switch to Highway 67 in Monmouth and drive to the Airport Road/Highway 67 intersection, take a right. At the stop light, take a right and follow airport signs.

From Chicago: Drivers heading from Chicago should take the I-88 West (also known as the John Deere Expressway). Follow the expressway to the ramp for the I-74 East heading south. Follow the I-74 East for a little over a mile until the intersection for Highway 6. Stay in the center lane and go straight through the lights and follow airport terminal and parking lot signs. Alternately, drivers can also take the I-80 West from Chicago and follow the directions listed in "From the East".

From Galena: Route 84 is another option. Drivers will head south on Route 84 heading south to the I-80 and then take the I-280 West exit. Follow the I-280 to exit 5B and follow the I-74 to the traffic lights. Stay in the center lane and go straight through the lights and follow airport terminal and parking lot signs.

From Peoria: Take the I-74 heading west to the I-280 West and then take the I-280 to exit 5B. Follow the I-74 to the traffic lights and remain in the center lane. Head through the lights and follow airport signs.

Main Terminal

Quad City International Airport's main terminal is divided into two sections. The main terminal entrances are located across from ticketing/check-in. To the left are the car rental reservation desks, hotel shuttles, taxi dispatcher, and baggage claim. There is also a restaurant/bar in this area. Behind the restaurant is the security area and hallway leading to Concourse A and Concourse B. Here gates A1 through A6 and B5, B7, B8, B8A, B9, B10, B11, B15 and B17 are located.

Concourse A and Concourse B are separated by a large open area that houses a deli/bar, massage station, and a gift shop. Concourse B has a CNN television viewing area. AirTran, American Eagle, Delta Connection, Northwest Airlink, and United Express all fly from these concourses. Both concourses are new, having been constructed in the fall of 2000 and spring of 2001, so passengers will find that the airport amenities are modern and extremely convenient.
