Hotel is clean.
Rooms are very small . needs a update. Way over priced for the room size.
Great location and great employees! Nice looking hotel.
The only thing I did not like was that the rooms are noisy. The gap in the doors to the hallway was large and you can even see through the light in the hall at night. I could also hear my neighbor snore at night. Cheaply made hotel!
Nice location, quiet and found the town to be very accomodating. Staff were friendly as well.
The door to the room (224) did not close fully and appeared to be jammed at some point in the past. Also, the air conditioner had a bad smell to it - not a smoking odor, but just a bad smell. We were tired and did not request another one though.
Beautiful public spaces. Rooms were large and consistant with other Hampton Inns as far as comfortable beds, nice baths, microwave, fridge, sitting areas and desk space.
Not enough staff to cover needs of guests. Had to wait forever to get checked in. Later, waited for a long time to pay for a candy bar from concessions. Seemed short staffed. Recommend that hotels get Kisosks just like airports as a choice.
The ambiance of the hotel was purely Charleston. charming. The desk staff were courteous and helpful when we needed some directions to specific locations and the breakfast room hostess certainly got our days off to a cheerful, gracious start.
Nothing at all!
The staff was extremely helpful to me while I was traveling alone with three small children. They found my pack of diapers I had dropped and guessed that they were mine. I was so grateful.
The listing on Priceline was misleading bc it said smokin free. This actually was a smoking room and the free was associated with the phrase free wifi. The hotel changed my room to non-smoking at my request.
It was fantastic! All the people that worked there were sooooo friendly, nice, and helpful! Wonderful trip!
From the moment we walked in the door at 10:30am the staff was welcoming and helpful. They told us our room would be ready in an hour even though we knew check in is usually 3pm. We had just stopped by to find the hotel, let them know we were here and to ask where would be a good place for us to go and get some good food nearby as this was our first time in Charleston. They suggested an amazing little cafe about 2 miles up the road and it was everything I hoped for and more. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the room was clean as a whistle and so comfortable! We will definitely be returning sooner rather than later! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking - it is close to everything, shopping, great restaurants and the beach! You won't go wrong staying here! Enjoy! Thank you Hampton Inn and Suites Mt Pleasant!!
We travel to Charleston annually and prefer to stay in Mount Pleasant because it's less crowded and a very nice area. I booked this hotel because of it's proximity to restaurants and shopping, though it turned out to be a little further from Charleston than I had envisioned. Overall the hotel was great. The room was nice, though a little small for a family of 4. Great breakfast, but there were not nearly enough tables & chairs for guests to use. We had to wait for a place to sit. The hotel is perfect for those wanting to go to the beach at Isle of Palms without paying Isle prices! Would stay again.
I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Suites Mt Pleasent as we traveled for my wife's birthday. We had selected to go with a suite. having a three year old with us, so that we would have the 'full' kitchenette and two televisions. Well, the room had one television, no eating or cooking utinsiles, and had water stains and mold near the ceiling in our room. The room itself was not 'clean' feeling as almost every Hampton Inn has been.
The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean. They served very nice breakfasts. Parking was good. It is right by a nice shopping area. We were very satisfied with our choice.
Everything in the hotel was clean and neat. The staff was adequately friendly but didn't overdo it. The beds were awesome!! The a/c in the room was a little iffy, it worked but the noise made you wonder how long, but a ceiling fan in the bedroom made the room pleasant. The breakfast is much more than a bagel and cereal and was a nice plus. The Isle of Palms location seemed like it was just a few minutes away from wherever we were going in Charleston. Pack a travel size laundry detergent and you are set with the free washer/dryers (2 each). There was a shortage of baggage carts but I guess we were there at a busy check-in time. Definitely get the 2 queen suite. The extra tv and the separate bedroom made having kids on the trip manageable. We stayed 2 nights and would love to have the queen bed we slept on at the hotel in our home. They are super comfy. The rooms do not offer a safe in the room so you have to leave your valuables in one of the few counter safes which I didn't care for. A safe in the room would be a big plus. There is also a side door that is supposed to be locked at all times with a faulty lock that allows anyone access to the hotel.
I paid $* for a room that had a pungent, musty odor coming out of the air conditioning unit. We were relocated to the only other available room and it too had the same problem and the odor was barely tolerable. Also, Sunday morning breakfast closes at 10 so don't sleep late and don't expect to even get a glass of juice at 10:01 because they shut off the juice machine and wouldn't turn it back on despite politely being asked at 10:02. Very disappointing service and stay for the price. This was a $*/night hotel at best that was charging $*/night.
Very friendly/competent staff. Do not book regular room that states oversized vanity area. We started in this room and it was so small you had to go outside to change your mind! Upgrade to suite for just $18.00 . Suite was roomy with all amenities including 2 TVs microwave, fridge and cooktop. AM breakfast was good with more than enough and kept replenished by staff. Coffee available all day. Internet service was spotty. This was only drawback and we will definitley return on our next visit to Charleston
This Hampton Inn is one of the better ones we have stayed in, and that is a big compliment. The suite was very nice, clean and bedding was comfortable. Decor of the hotel was very attractive. Only down side was the breakfast -- not the greatest, and no sausage/bacon -- could use some improvement there. Otherwise a great place to be!
