It was a fantastic experience - they first gave me a free upgrade, but wasn't the car I wanted, so they went to another shop to get what I needed. Later, I needed to extend my booking and they responded at 7am! No hassle, and everything was taken care of.

After arriving at the facility with a Lyft for our pre booked rental we then had the hassle that due to fact they have now only have chip pin payment and my chip was not working on my credit card and company policy is they won’t accept debit card, nor would they let anyone in the party pay the “refundable deposit” they just say there with blank looks on their faces saying there was nothing they could do, we were about to drive from NY to Florida, so luckily for us Budget was only a few blocks away and they as always went out of their way to help us get on our 10 day road trip ! Nice to see good old American Customer Service is still alive at Budget as Alamo sucks with theirs!!

I had a change of plans and returned the vehicle to the pickup site. The onsite staff were unable to remove the one way fee. The corporate office bounced me around, sens the info to the wrong local office and the issue is still not resolved.

We were charged a different price than quoted (though the estimate hasn't been confirmed yet). We also were told we were required to pay for EzPass through the rental car and that there were high fees charged for it, but this seems incorrect, as Toll By Mail seems available on all roads via an easy online form.

I received a hybrid that had less than 10 perfect battery life. I did not enjoy the car for the entire first day of rental because I was afraid to drive it due to the battery life being so low. I had to find someone willing yo place an app on their phone and then drive out of the way to locate a plug in that I had to pay money to charge the vehicle up before I could comfortably or safely drive anywhere. The battery was not self charging as I drove it and there were no instructions on charging time,location ,etc

Both pick-up and drop-off were terrible. There were only 2 staff members, we waited in line over an hour to get the car. No clear information on additional pricing was given. Drop off was similarly bad, no indication on were to leave the car, the location was packed and they asked us to leave the car “wherever we could park” then they took forever to do the final check and the person doing it was annoyed by the crazy amount of work he had to do by himself and therefore quite rude.

The lady behind the desk at the pick up location was VERY rude and she intentionally didn’t want to help me with my reservation. When I finally got the car (after so much delay and struggle) the inside was filthy! The inside of the car had not been cleaned.

We waited over 3 hours for our car rental because the facility (and at least 3 other facilities surrounding it) did not have cars for at least 15-20 people who were ahead of us. Because of this significant delay, we missed a wedding ceremony and cannot get this experience back. Management and their computer system need a revamp to ensure there are enough cars for the reservations made because having 15-20 different groups wait more than even just 30 minutes for their car agreement is extremely poor business and unprofessional. The staff themselves were nice and it's not their fault. The facility was clean with a working bathroom.

The car broke down 45 minutes out of the city on an entry ramp to a freeway. The police towed the car after working with Hertz emergency service. They had no other cars and the 55th Street location would not answer the phone the entire weekend. It cost me several hundred dollars in Ubers and ruined my weekend. I had to go into the office in person and called the phone while he sat there and didn’t answer it. I’ve never had such base service in my life. I’ve requested reimbursement but they have not yet responded.

Awful experience. I chose 'manager's choice' in my booking, as I'm normally not fussy about what car I drive and I like the experience of trying makes and models I haven't driven before. Unfortunately this time 'manager's choice' was an electric vehicle, a Chevy Bolt. I should have refused to take it. It was completely unsuitable for my needs. Unfortunately I went ahead. I was handed the key and given no advice about how to charge it or how to find charging stations. It turns out many charging stations require a particular app. Most charging stations are not found at gas stations. Also, charging the vehicle fully takes many hours, not the couple of minutes regular non-EV cars take to fill up. If an EV is your lifestyle choice you can plan your schedule, figure out the apps, figure out the charging network, and plan your route around that choice. As a novice to EV's and as a person taking a 24 hour rental, an EV was a completely unsuitable vehicle. I ended up with a massive additional charge from Hertz ($127 in addition to the $140 rental fee), as I had to return the car with a drained battery (I couldn't fit the 5 hour charge time into my schedule). First, the location was terrible. We were using gps and our Uber driver was doing his best but it is hidden out of sight. The address sends you to the drop off rather than the pick up. Second, when we arrived at 9 am the waiting area was full and then we were told there were NO cars!! I had made my reservation months in advance. All the following days of our trip had reservations that could no longer be cancelled. People were getting increasingly disgruntled. There were only 2 employees to check folks in. Slowly vehicles started drifting in and we finally got our car by 11. But this should never happen!! On a positive note, we had reserved an SUV but were given a mini van for the same price and we enjoyed it and it provided the space we needed.

Terrible, waited over an hour after paying to get a car as the car was not ready. No notice the car was not ready, it is illegal to charge a customer for a car that is not actually available. That is the definition of fraud.

Reservation was confirmed. I took the Air Train to the car rental location. There was a hand written sign saying they were out of cars and no reservations were being honored. They should not accept reservations if they have no cars. It was like a scene from Seinfeld! They take the reservation but they don’t HOLD the reservation.

They did not give me my rental vehicle. They said because I didn’t make the reservation 24hrs in advance, that it wasn’t valid. Left me, my wife, and 1 year old child stranded in New York. Wouldn’t rent us a car seat so we could take a taxi or Lyft. Completely cold. Worst experience.

Rental was pretty seamless. Agent in NY was super helpful, wish I remembered her name. Only complaint would be not informing customer that they’re reserving an electric vehicle. I didn’t find that out until getting to Dollar. A change can be made for a fee though and if a regular vehicle is available.

Was allowed to rent a car past the time that the rental car company was open. Flight coming in was delayed so I hopped on different flight to this location, planning on renting a car to drive back home. Ended up being stranded in JFK for a night as I was never able to rent a car and all other places were booked. Had I known renting a car here wasn't possible I probably wouldn't have made flight arrangements this way

I was overcharged approximately $370 for the insurance because it didn't specify that it would be 3 times the amount when not purchasing online Windows weren't clean, windshield wipers were old and could barely see when it rained at night. The car was obviously in a major accident as it looked like it was painted with spray cans Plus it had 59,500 miles on it Horrible car and company I have never given such a bad review on a company like this one in my life

Great value for the price. Staff assures that you are getting the best value and were very kind. The car was in great condition. The only thing I would improve is more staff for times with more pick up and drop off. Other renters were very impatient and unkind to staff who were working very efficiently. There were no clear locations to park cars being dropped off which created more work for the staff. Otherwise, excellent.

I wish the tank was full when I picked it up. It's a bit more complex to return a tank at 5/8 than to return one that is full.

Absolutely terrible experience and will never use Turo. Apparently the car we had arranged months before was smashed two weeks before we we due to pick it up. Trouble is, no one told us until we were on the Eurostar on the way to get it. They had had our money for ages. Seems like the owner, Luke, was trying to get Turo to make up the difference and hire us his more expensive alternative (a Porsche, which I wouldn’t want anyway). Turo “help” line was totally unhelpful. Couldn’t end the deal; couldn’t refund without us getting on to another department (hard on a foreign phone). They can’t call you…. So it was impossible to organise an alternative. If there is a problem with a car hire company, they just replace it. Turo was more expensive and unable to fix a problem. Never again.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

The rental agency Victory would not agree to rent me the vehicle I had already paid for without taking 270$ of insurance, despite me showing proof that my personal insurance was covering me for any rental issues…Maurizio told me if I don’t pay it I cannot have the car! Then trying to reach anyone for drop off changes was very difficult and no refund offered on the insurance hen our trip was shortened and carrerurned 3 days early. Feeling scammed and disappointed
