Located near Universal Studios and I-4 (most direct route to Disney World). The best feature - a Giordano’s Pizza within walking distance. The hotel has an upscale, perhaps even a little gaudy and artificially pretentious feel. The rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained.
Perhaps because of the convenient location, the roads around the hotel are very contested, making it hard to get in and out of the parking. Parking is the other issue - there is not much, and what there is, costs $12 a night. There were 2 private events at the hotel the night we checked in, and the parking was over-full with abandoned cars blocking parking empty spots, and other cars which could not get out - a perfect nightmare. Finally, the hotel seems to be the location the chain uses to lure people to Orlando for their time-share presentation - "Stay 3 nights in Orlando for free if you attend a 45 minute presentation." If you are into timeshares, great! We are not. If we ever visit Orlando again, we will choose a different hotel.
$17 for a 12 year old breakfast buffet was steep for the "selection" & taste.
Quality for price, location, breakfast buffet, clean
A bit noisy, we could hear everything in the next room and hallways
General clean, quiet, hotel with all the necessary amentities, bar, Breakfast , computer printer, clean rooms
The fitness center equipment was old and not well taken care of. The two days I was there only 1 of the 5 treadmills was functioning on the first day and the second day there were two different ones working and one had a loud screech and the other rocked and knocked against the floor. They also had a bike and elliptical, but the elliptical was not working either.
The parking was terrible. You have to pay $10 per day to park at the hotel but there is not enough parking for all the hotel guests. Once the parking lot is full you have to use the valet parking which costs more money. This hotel is better suited for someone that is in town for business, not a family on vacation. If you use the room service, you have to pay a $3 delivery fee and a 22% tip. The hall that our room was on had a terrible odor and there were stains on the sheets.
Paper thin walls, fine for a short stay but not for a long one
I had read reviews regarding how loud the AC was, but this wasn't a problem at all. Everything was just okay, but paled in comparison to our 2nd stay later in the week that cost the same per night (Renessaince Marriot) not sure if I got a great deal there, or a bad deal here. Not unhappy, but happier out next destination for the balance of our trip.
Size of room, a little dated.
They offer an early check in....the front desk told me when I got there it rarely happens...then why offer it???? We arrived at 1pm and our room was not available. We went to a local restaurant and came back around 3pm still not ready, waited in the lobby and at ten till 4 the room was STILL NOT ready. I asked if it would be ready within the next 10 mins all while other guests were able to check in and we some how had to be moved to a different room. My advice if someone requests an early check in get those rooms cleaned first, you are a major hotel in downtown universal there is no excuse for not having rooms available for those with reservations.
Proximity to things we were doing.
The A/C unit in the room was insanely loud and the bed was about 2 feet away from it. Then of course waking up to a flood in the bathroom was the icing on the cake.
Check in isn't until 4 and the pool closes at 11. Its not up to date at all and way over priced for what you get. Very disappointed
staff very nice, very easy to accommodate request..
mens restaurant outside restaurant area very little or no tissue paper.. our room was not vacuum for 3 days also still not enough tissue paper left in the room....
Liked everything. Great accommodation, very helpful and friendly staff
There was nothing that I did not like
Great location to Universal studios. The room was clean and staff was friendly.
I can always count on the Crowne Plaza being consistently good. This one was no different.
Clean, nice staff, great view, close to universal
Convenience to the parks in the area.
Workers was friendly and the breakfast buffet was good.
Wifi should be included in the price of the room. It shouldn't cost additional 12.95. Also u shouldn't charge $9 for parking a day. It deters customers to come back.
