The hotel was very close to the station and easy to find, which was important as we arrived late. The hotel staff was very friendly and supportive. Good value for money.
Arriving at the "Hotel Regina" I was kindly given 10 Euros at the Reception to pay for the difference in price: They asked me to go down the street a few meters and check in at the "Palazzo Savona". I liked the place very much even though the bathroom was to share with other guests.
I think the room was expensive for what we received,eg no breakfast.
it is located in the city centre and it is easy to find it on the map
my room was like in a hospital, very durty, impossible to sleep because of noise
A nice big room with ensuite & ceiling fan, right in the centre of the city at a very reasonable price.
The staff was great and helpful, even though the older man didn't speak english very well we managed with signlanguage and a lot of laughs. The rooms where nice (we had to change room one night due to overbooking) and we recommend the restaurant in the alley by the hotel, very good food at a great cost. Great location in the center of old Palermo.
The breakfast was served at a small café nearby, and the options of what to eat was minimal, especially for my vegetarian friend it was croissant or croissant, that's it. The 2 long stairs was also a pain, it was hot and I was sick with a bad cough and the stairs up to the hotel made me gasp for air each time.
Very central location in Palermo's center, in a nice neighbourhood. Decent rooms, even though the hotel looks overall more a hostel than a hotel. Clean shared toilets/showers and never had to queue to use them. Staff was friendly and helpful.
When we were there (June 2008), there were renovation works going on in the hotel's building block, so there was quite some noise. Also, theoretically there is a curfew at 0.00, you have to tell the staff explicitly that you will come back late, very unhotel-like imho, just like the check-out time of 10am.
The prize of the room was good and staff was friendly.Good room if you are on the budget, otherwise I would choose something else,
The hotel staff don't speak english except one lady, unfortunately she was on duty only a few times. Noise levels can be very high, first room we had, the noise from the streets was so loud that it made sleeping difficult. Also the beds are not comfortable and the strings of the matress are pushing through. First bed I had was really terrible, second was a bit better. Breakfast was disgusting.
Location is good
Is a hostel, not a hotel. Staff a bit gruff
The location is great. This is a very simple, no frills hotel, but we particularly enjoyed the personal touch provided, it seems to be a family run hotel and I have to say, they couldn't have been more helpful. They did everything they could to accommodate us, they provided maps, useful tips, special requests, everything! Two members of staff speak English, quite an achievement in Palermo and its outskirts.
They close at midnight. The breakfast was a wee bit on the poor side.
