This place is good if you want to get away from everything, in a remote part of the island where you can do whatever you want, on their resort of course. There is little of anything outside of their resort unless you want to take a water taxi 30 minutes away.
When we made the booking, we wanted a nice place in a quiet area with a nice pool and on the beach. We have a 6 year old daughter and we made the reservation with 2 adults and 1 child. When we got there at check in, we were forced to pay a "child fee". Nowhere on the Web site was there any mention of the child fee, and they cited "hotel policy". If I had known this up front I would have considered this as the total cost of the hotel. Also, if you want to go into town, there are only 2 options. 1) walk about 2 hours through the woods. Or 2) pay for a private water taxi to get you there. If you have a problem with mosquitos this place is not for you. It's full of mosquitos, but bug spray is available in the minibar and a fogger is available for free to kill them in your room.
We loved the laid back attitude of the staff yet they were always there to help you. Very polite and professional
Resort is beautiful and service is outstanding. The private beach is gorgeous. Our stay at this resort was one of the best vacations, ever. Food is great at all their venues. I specially recommend their Thai Restaurant. Nestled against a hill, is one of the most fantastic restaurants we have experienced. The half-day Island Tour was a lot of fun. Entertainment at night is a lot of fun considering this is an isolated hotel. Overall experience was superb.
The only thing I would have changed was the pick up from the Phi Phi pier in a long boat. The ride was choppy and very slow. On the return, however they used a fast boat, which made it fast and comfortable.
This place was just magical. We chose the cheapest room option and I was really happy with our bungalow. All of the little touches like flowers made it that bit extra special. We also took other trip advisor reviews recommendations and went to the village behind the resort and loved it - massaman curries and oil massages.
The prices of the food were really exorbitant and not really reflective of the standard of the food. Also we tried to book a ferry from Phi Phi to Phuket and the best they could offer was 1500 for a transfer or 1000 just for the ferry. We got the ferry in Tonsai for 300 baht!
Pool and beach had excellent view and facilities. And very quiet and relax.
Located on private beach, it wasn't easy to experience various restaurant. And we had to wait for a quite long lunch got served.
It was really wonderful, and the staff was incredibly nice. The bungalows were adorable and so clean.
Unfortunately, it rained the whole time so we didn't really get to enjoy the full amenities of the hotel. Also, I wish we had known that it was quite isolated prior to coming, as the hotel was really designed I think with romance in mind and that was not the purpose of our trip. It was hard to get to the main village without ending up spending a lot more money.
