The best resort and spa I have ever been too.You are pampered the moment you drive up to the massive entrance. From there there are no worries everything is there for you, never have to leave the property. The restaurants are so good excellent chefs.Alot of staff to care for you at any of the 4 pools. There are activities everyday for you like yoga, and for the kids, golf for the husband. You will love it,the heat wasn't bad and I went in July.
Normally when booking a hotel, you pay via cc when you make your reservation then when you arrive they ask for a cc that will get charged only if there's damages. So I 'paid' w/ the company CC (AMEX) in the amount of $260. Upon arrival, when giving a card for 'damages' I gave them my debit card b/c that was the only card I had on me. Turns out they charged the ENTIRE stay on my debit card instead in the about $325 (I hadn't charged anything to my room either. That was just for the room for 1 nite). A couple days later, when I went to call about it, the CSR said she could help me w/ the billing issue. When I told her what it was, she xfrd me to the Business Center where I was on hold for 19 minutes. I then hung up, called back and spoke w/ the same woman and told her that I have a billing issue, she said she was going to xfr me to accounting. I told her that I think they are closed b/c I was just on hold for 19 minutes. She xfrs me anyway where I remain on hold for another 20 minutes before I call a 3rd time. This is how the conversation went: Shaunna: 'JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort. HOw may I help you?' Me: 'Hi. What is your name?' Shauna: 'JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort.' Me: 'Yes I know, what is YOUR name.' Shauna: 'Who am I speaking with?' Me: 'Krystle. Now, what is YOUR name?' Shauna: 'This is the front office.' Me: 'Do you have a name?' Shauna: 'Yes.' Me: 'What is it?' Shauna: 'Shauna.' Me: 'Can I talk to a mgr please?' Shauna: 'Can I get your name?' Me: 'Again, Krystle' I don't know what kind of people they have working there but they obviously can't comprehend basic English and they don't care about customer service. The mgr, Chelsea was compassionate, although she didn't offer anything to makeup of the my dissatisfaction, she did send over a CC Authorization form that I could fill out to switch charges. The place was VERY expensive. $325 for one night. It was $22 for a turkey sandwich, chips, and coffee and I got that b/c is was the cheapest thing availa...
Very nice, clean resort. Great for kids! Love the 'lazy river'.
My wife has already sent a review, however I feel compelled to let travelocity know what a great trip we had. The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort was fantastic in every way. The only bad thing was that we had to leave. We will go to the Desert Ridge again and as always, we will book our trip through travelocity.
We just returned from a long weekend at Desert Ridge. We loved it! The pools, restaurants, golf course and atmosphere are second to none. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are great with very comfortable beds. We especially enjoyed the Vista Lounge, with its happy hour, live entertainment and great food. We all agreed that we will DEFINITELY return!
Well-managed hotel with many amenities. Room service was excellent. Concierge and check-in staff were great. Tennis club staff member on Dec 28th was great but one on 30th was ignorant and unhelpful. Spa service was very good, especially Vera. Front desk is hidden from main entrance-difficult to locate for first-timers. Room size was quite small for the price. Water glasses were stained and never changed. Ambient music from the lawns can be heard inside. Restaurant food portions were very large and overpriced with no option to pick smaller portions. Wi-fi was inconsistent. We will return only because of the great hotel staff. Facilities need improvement.
Nice, clean, resort and great customer service. Free internet would be great.
This place is exactly as advertised. Although it is normally out of my price range (booked during holiday special pricing) I would definitely consider stretching my budget next time I am in town. The staff are all ridiculously polite and helpful. The facility is shabby chic and the grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend to those who can afford.
Trip was nice overall. Will come back...the resort had a lot of resturants and stuff to do... Enjoyed the lazy river
We had a great week at Desert Ridge Resort. Pools and lazy river were wonderful. Very clean and comfortable room.
The staff were very friendly. The pool was nice and the waitress was very attentive. Coming back from the gym each day I was welcomed by the bell men with a bottle of cold water. The lounge is a great place to have a lite dinner and drink while listening to live music.
Fantastic resort! Highly recommend, fantastic staff and great location
I am sure most of it is that we picked a horrible weekend to go. The place was completely packed. They didn't even have pool towels one morning and it was very difficult at times to find a chair by the pool- which is amazing because it is HUGE. Also- even though there are a lot of fun things for the kids- I would NOT take my kids there. It was much more of a party atmosphere than I expected. There was a lot of bad language and drunkenness. Another very surprising thing is that the only outdoor seating area near the hotel was all smoking section. We couldn't even go in or out of the hotel to the pool area without walking through smoke. Not appealing at all. Like the title states- we will not be going back.
