Just got back from a quick 3 night stay at beaches. Took my 15 year old daughter. Resort was very nice. It is a very large resort but since it is segmented into different themes it is not overwhelming. All of the villages are kind of self contained with pools, bars and restaurants you can walk to all. We stayed in the Italian village in a family suit. It was overlooking the ocean so the view was very good. In the suit, there is a small room with bunk beds and a pullout. Also has a sink. Perfect for kids. Master has a large king size bed and pullout sofa. Refrige was stocked with juice, soda, water, beer, wine, and champagne. Refilled every day. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Ate at Schooners, Soy, and the Barefoot restaurant. All were good. We ate breakfast at Mario's--buffet was very good. Beach was very nice. Water is beautiful. Snorkeling right out front is not great because there is no coral. You will see some fish but walk down the beach to the coral gardens . It is about 1 kilometer down the beach to the left (if you are facing the water). There is a circular coral area that you can snorkel around the outside of. This is definitely worth the walk. Lots of fish and coral. Went windsurfing, paddle boarding, sailed hobie's. Only extra (not included) activity we did was the Kitty Katt tour. It was fun but you only get about 20 minutes to snorkel--the snorkeling is really good. They also drop you off at a beach where there is a bone fish flat and lots of iguanas on the beach. Depending on what you are looking for, Beaches resort is very nice. A romantic, intimate getaway for 2? Not what i would pick. Family and friends getaway? Yes. It is a party atmosphere with a certain level of sophistication. Had no problems with: Finding chairs on the beach. Never a problem. I did not have to get up at 5:30 am and run down a put a towel on the chair. People 'reserved them' in the early morning then never came or came late in the afternoon. What's up with that? Waiting fo...
My husband and I visited Beaches Turks and Caicos for 8 days/ 7 nights which served as our wedding and honeymoon. I have to say this was the BEST trip we have ever taken. They made what could have been a very stressful time (with the wedding and all) a very relaxing and spectacular experience. We stayed in the Caribbean Village in the Premium Honeymoon suite, anyone can book these rooms. Everything was perfect, great staff, great food/ drinks, great activities.. everything! This is the ultimate vacation and totally worth it. We will be going back on a yearly basis.
This island is absolutely beautiful. This ultra all inclusive resort is exceptionally clean, the weather was perfect, there are 12 restaurants to choose from, all water sports are included (even scuba diving), and the counselors in the kids’ camp were great! The airport is less than 15 minutes from the hotel and the flight on Jet Blue from NY is less than 3.5 hours. I highly recommend this resort and in fact have rebooked for next spring. The only thing I disliked was the additional charge for interent access which is somewhat unreliable.
This was our first family vacation in an all inclusive resort and we loved it. There were some activities that were part of the resort we didn't utilize until the end of our stay and wished we had figured it out sooner. For example, the kayak's and water bikes. If we did it all over again I would have pushed my children to attend the kids events sooner because they ended up really enjoying themselves and meeting kids from all over the country and from canada. The food was good but we did miss out on some of our first choice restaurants because the wait was to long. No worries though because there were plenty more to choose from. My husband was concerned we wouldn't make it to the airport for our flight home because it was a holiday week and very crowded. However the staff had the transportation worked out perfectly and everyone arrived on time and got through the baggage check.
Our first room, in the Caribbean Village, was comfortable, clean and spacious, but we moved mid-week to the Italian Village into the loveliest hotel room I've ever seen. The grounds are extremely well-kept, and the Grace Bay beach is beautiful. I highly recommend the butler service, which smoothed over every concern and anticipated every need--most helpful when you're traveling with young children.
My husband and three children (ages 15, 13 and 10) just got back from Beaches, Turks & Caicos. We all had an absolutely fantastic time. We've been other places (Aruba, Bahamas, Dominican, Mexico) but this was the best of all. Everyone who worked at the resort was friendly and wanted to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It was very relaxing and fun. I highly recommend this resort.
PROS: - service is friendly and helpful - plenty of food choices - concierge went over and above to get things for me - transportation from airport is quick and easy - check-in is painless - very kid friendly - plenty to do - sometimes the food was good - the pizzas are great (and nearly always available) CONS: - ran out of towels at pool by 11:00am - internet speed is horribly slow, nearly useless - checkout/transportation to the airport process is awful -- a complete goat rodeo - sometimes the food was bad (any beef item in the Cricketer's Pub is cooked beyond recognition) ADVICE: Stay in Italian Village. It's the newest with the best pool. We stayed there and I would have bummed if I had stayed in some of the other villages. French Village is decent. The others were pretty tired looking.
Friendly, welcoming, GREAT food, pool's are awesome, beach right there, many ativities for both kids and adults.
The room size was big enough for my husband, myself, and my 1 year old not to feel cramped. We stayed in the carribean turquoise room, and it was very comfortable. They staff was friendly and curtious. There were plenty places to eat and the food was great. We will definately be back in the future.
Family traveled with a 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old. They both enjoyed all parts of the trip...playing on the beach, the heated pools, the lazy river ride and the waterpark as well as the nightly Sesame Street shows. There were plenty of lounge chairs available at the beach and pools but not at the waterpark. The resort was not as spread out as we anticipated making it an easy stroll to the various villages for different activities and dining options. The Sesame Street characters weren't as visible during the day as we expected or the kids might have liked. The photographers were very good (and expensive) but not intrusive. The overall service and food were both good but not great. I expected a little more from a place that caters so much to kids but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back, preferably with a room upgrade and/or a discount through a credit card or travel deal.
We have had a miserable experience with the Sandals resort Turks and Caicos. After having been awarded what was supposed to be a package for four people, we were told that the room accommodations wed been granted were only a double room. A few back and forths ensued with the booking department as we pointed out the level of room did not match what was explicitly stated on the award certificate, but their inflexible, rude staff would not honor the agreement. We had no choice but to pay for an upgrade so that we could have some separation. When we spoke with their booking department, we were EXTREMELY clear that this was an absolutely requirement we needed a door on the bedroom or we wouldnt be able to come at all (work obligations required some evening time after our kids went to sleep). We found a suite that would suffice and we were told it would be an additional $* for the four nights. Irritated that this free vacation was now costing us over $* with airfare, we reluctantly went ahead. We were contacted a few weeks later and told that yet another fee was required, and when we called to discuss, we were told that although we had been upgraded, the room in fact had no door as explicitly required. BUT, if we paid another $* we could get a room with the door. Which room? THE VERY SUITE WE HAD ALREADY CONFIRMED AND UPGRADED TO! When we pointed this out to the hotel and demanded they honor their agreement, they said that for the inconvenience, they would only charge us $* instead of $*! Are you kidding me???? We canceled the trip. If this is how they treat you before you get there...buyer beware!
