The Ocean Club is a nice resort. Keep in mind that studio rooms face the island. So as a result...ours faced the parking lot with a very small balcony. Most rooms also come with washer/dryer but ours did not. The Cabana Club is a good restaurant. Good food, and open air right on the beach. It would be nice if they had a breakfast included package option. Opus is also a good upscale restaurant with music on Thursday nights. We enjoyed Sara Greenwood on guitar and she was excellent. Both restaurants are right on site. The beach and water are wonderful. Water sports are easily accessed as well. We also took advantage of the free bicycles for hotel guests. I would return to the Ocean Club. They gave us a $100.00 credit toward return trip.
This is not a luxury hotel. More like a condo. Liked having a kitchen, but the promised room with laundry was not provided. Two great places to eat on property.
The location is very good and the beach area has a nice view. Swimming pool is not quite clear. Room is clean. I like that the have kitchen, washer and dryer. We had a deluxe suite. I like that we have a balcony. Some of the staff are nice like the funny guy that drives the the golf cart. But there is one shuttle driver that seems so aloof and not really like to talk. There is also some nice shuttle drivers who are friendly and gives you info about the area. I like that there is always some bicycles available. Shuttle is always available as well. Front desk are quite nice as well.
I won't go back to this island even that the beach is gorgeous. Everything is so expensive in there since they don't produce anything, everything comes from USA. In the Gourmet Supermarket, you find the same products as USA but the price x 3. Restaurants about the same, the cheapest plate is $35, a Hamburger $12, Chicken Fingers for kids $10-$12, Pinnaple Juice in Opus Rest $12 the Sparkling water bottle $8.... everything ridiculous expensive. I spent my whole week cooking and not only me, you see almost everyone in the hotel doing BBQ by the pool area, this is not vacation for me. The hotel was nice for a 3 start hotel, room was spacious w/ a full equiped kitchet and a nice view (no complaint) but this hotel is 1 mile away from the Ocean Club West, you need to take a shuttle back and for. This is the place to do nothing since there is nothing to do at this hotel, no shows, no entertainment and the bar shuts down at 9:30 PM . Beautiful destination but I personally prefer to stick to the All-Inclusive resorts.
We stayed at Ocean Club and could not have been happier! The room was clean, quiet and nice. the staff who worked at the beach side restraurant was so nice giving us tips where to sight see and where to dine. the front desk was friendly as well. We will be back for sure!
we loved the ocean in resort. it's pretty far east on grace bay. if you need to be right in the thick of things you may want to try ocean club west which is closer to the restaurants and town center. for my wife and i this wasn't a problem. we never saw more than a few other people on the beach with us which was great. whenever we wanted to go to town or the supermarket we'd just hop on the complimentary bikes the resort provided. the rooms were kept super clean by the staff. this was our first time in turks and caicos. we would definitely stay at ocean club again. it was a great, relaxing time.
Right on the beach, relaxing atmosphere, close to restaurants, we really enjoyed it!
Visited from Jan 29th through Feb. 3rd 2012. One of the best beaches I've ever been on. Quite, all you hear is the surf. Clean and uncrowded. The property was very well maintained and clean. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The large screened in balcony was wonderful for breakfast if you didn't want to go to the on site restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Opus restaurant within walking distance was excellent. Great diving with Provo Turtle Divers and other water sports available. We will be back!
We stayed 16 days this year in the same area (overlooking the pool) as we did last year and fell into the relaxed atmosphere of walking beautiful Grace Bay beach, swimming in the ocean or pool and enjoying preparing our meals in our jr. suite on the third floor. The Cabana Bar and Opus offer restaurant choices on the property which made it unnecessary to rent a car. The staff is very accommodating and helpful which is another reason we decided to return to this resort. With more direct air service to the island from Boston, it's an easy trip and hassle free if you travel weekdays. Highly recommend this spot for a truly relaxed vacation.
It's like staying at a borrowed Condo.. the decor was decent, the room spacious. The cleaning staff was great. The front desk staff a bit spotty and some a bit more than testy than others.... The wifi is not connected in all rooms so there might be the wifi dance to get a connection. I will say the beach is amazing and it's a good place to decompress, so in that sense it was perfect but there are better options
Room( junior suite) was just as shown,, and spacious. Beach was great, plenty of umbrellas, chairs and lounges. Other restaurants and shopping within walking distance-- 15 Minutes,, also bikes availaible. Laid back atmosphere--perfect place to de-compress! Cleaning staff very good !
We arrived around to the front desk from the airport around 9PM and got to our room only at 10PM. They did not know who we were, they could not find our reservation and once they did they said they had given our room to somebody else. The lady called someone, perhaps the manager and they stayed on the phone for 40 minutes trying to find out which room to give us. We were waiting all the time with our luggage at the reception. Once they figured out which room to give us, the front desk took other 15 minutes to get the paperwork done, fill in forms, etc. Then we were told to follow a guy who would take us to the room. He had a small golf cart which fit only 1 passenger. So we were not confortable there, being 3 people. Once in the golf cart, the 'driver' too us to several buildings trying to find our room. He was lost. We went back and forth and then again to the reception to ask for directions. (He was supposed to know where the room is!) Also, he crashed the cart against one building. It was a really bad experience. Once we finally got to the room, it was really outdated. The kitchen was INSIDE of the closet. So we had to open it in order to see the sink and small fridge (which was not working). We had other bad experiences during the stay, the tire of the bike was flat and they could not replace it so we had to walk. Location was very far from everything else. There was a dead roach in the bedroom, etc. At the end they offered to transfer us to the hotel for 30$ which is what we paid to get there in a normal private taxi. However it was a shared ride! The taxi did several stops and charged each party $30, same price as non shared cab. Definitely a really bad hotel.
