Only had option of an EV, have never driven one before. When renting online, should mention this possibility. Person at pickup counter not very helpful, only there to upsell. Didn't mention to check transponder if on/off or how much charged the EV should be on return.

Very bed experience, starting with the office worker what gives you attitude when you’re asking questions and ending with the car with ripped seats and Shaking wells and aesthetic cars make you feel like you got the car from a junkyard, very bed , when I asked the worker to change my car he tells me is not possible so i got the drive the junk , I will never think that Buget rental car can rent that car and give costumers that service, don’t rent from this guy

The experience was nice, the associates were very hospitable. The only complaint I have was that the car was not clean on the outside, and I was given a car that displayed, “Maintenance Required “.

Received conflicting information from Budget about what is needed in order to take a rental car out of the country. No one really knew the correct answer. Luckily we didn't have any problems. The customer service line is not US based so it was difficult to get the correct information needed due to language barrier.

I arrived just shy of midnight, so I was redirected to the Avis counter. The Avis representative was superb! He was friendly, humorous, and helpful. I paid in advance for a car seat, but there wasn’t one available upon arrival. I accepted the next best thing, a booster seat - though it’s really not nearly as safe (or possibly even legal) for my 3yo. As for the vehicle, the only one remaining was a larger SUV than I’d requested. That was a pleasant surprise - thank you! As my stay in SC went along, I realized I needed to extend my reservation. That process was so easy and pleasant. All in all, I am beyond pleased with my experience. Thank you all for having wonderful staff and vehicle options.

We weren’t able to rent the car. The guy at the counter was rude and pushy. He said they didn’t take our form of payment(which was a credit card). Also called and said that we couldn’t use the pickup time we asked for cause they closed at the time was asked for. Had to go to another rental and pay almost twice the price

Pros:

Very friendly-went above and beyond. My phone must have fallen out of my purse into the rental. I had no idea, returned the car, got in my sister’s car and we left. The woman working there found it so quickly, somehow knew which car I’d gotten into and she found us to get my phone to me. I didn’t get her name, but her action saved me so much stress and worry. I would not have expected she could find us out there and save the day! Brilliant!

Cons:

When I first arrived ther was nobody working behind the counter. there was a sign that said be back in 30 min. When I returned , the sign had changed to the hours of operation sign . They close at 4:00pm. It was 4:12. Didn’t get my rental . Had to spend $200 on an Uber instead

Cons:

The car wasn't immediately ready when I arrived, and I was displeased with the lack of assurance that the vehicle provided would accomodate five passengers as stated online...it's the only reason I opted for the intermediate at the time I placed the order. Also, no CD Player.

Cons:

Sneaky added charges of $10-15 not reflected in the initial quote from Kayak. I don't know if this is a Kayak problem or an Avis problem, bit I don't like being given a quote for total charges that then goes up when I drop off the car. Kayak/Avis need to get their sh!t together.

Pros:

I needed a car for a little more than a month. I got a Hundai Elantra that averaged 38 mpg (compared to my personal Jeep, that's a sipper!). It was comfortable to sit in for many hours a day, had plenty of pep and a steady cruise control. After 4600 miles, I'm very pleased with my rental.

Cons:

The first car the agent brought out was a dingy looking car with a noticeably stained interior. I couldn't bear the thought of living with someone else's orange soda and coffee stains for a month, so I asked for a cleaner car. The agent complied.

Pros:

Personable and fast. Our reserved car was not available so we got a free upgrade! After a 12 hour road trip, we were surprised by how comfortable we still were. No hidden fees. No BS. Just great service! Very affordable! Will rent from again!

Cons:

If your credit card is a debit card linked to your checking, you have to provide additional information and documentation that we weren't made aware of beforehand. However, the quick and courteous staff got everything handled over our cell phone.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
