This hotel is an European 4 star which is the equivalent of an American 4 star. Room Service: Breakfast only. Required extra bedding is free in rooms shared by up to two children 12 or under and two parents/grandparents. City Tax: 3 EUR per person per night (starting from 10 years old) excluded from the rate and payable to the hotel.
The rooms were clean. Reception staff helpful.
The hotel was not a 4* more like 2/3* hotel. The breakfast buffet was very poor, compared to the previous hotel we stayed in which was a 3*.The upgrade rooms were just standard rooms, compared to the English Choice Hotels we have stayed in previously. Had a problem with our standard room, but it was sorted out quickly and reasonable.
The day clerk was very helpful. He always had a 'friend' who could do a tour etc. But the friends all turned out quite well. The breakfast room is very pleasant. The offering was fine -- would have liked some fresh fruit.
It is really located in a back alley, so our room had no sunlight. We had a quad (two adults and two children) which was really small. The night clerk was not helpful at all.
The location was great-within walking distance to everything. Unlike many hotels in Rome, it was quiet because it was not on a main street. The rooms were mostly updated and had a very charming decor. The person at the desk recommended great restaurants.
They keep the dirty toilet brush next to the toilet, causing the room to smell. The hair dryer was old and did not work; I was ignored when I told the front desk about it. It appears that the hotel employees receive a cash kick back for recommending tours and transportation. The tour they recommended was not good. We asked for a taxi to take us to the airport and without our permission, they sent a private car which was more expensive.
Its very close to anything in Rome.
The room smelled of smoke, the breakfast was terribly for a 4* hotel.
The staff were very friendly. Breakfast over looking the terraces was nice.
