Domus Sessoriana lies inside an Archaeological complex were there are the ruins of the Temple of Venus and Cupid. In the ancient times State councils were held, inside there is also the gorgeous Castrensian Amphitheatre, which dates back to the epoch of the Emperor Eliogabalo (218-222). In the Amphitheatre there use to take place shows involving gladiator fights and battles between humans and wild beasts; now it hosts the Cistercian Vegetable Garden. The building is divided in two sections. The Conventual's wing On the right face of the Basilica, occupies part of the Ancient Monastery, which is sited on three levels, that includes the hall, the refectory and rooms of various dimensions all delicately furnished. The rooms look over on the archaeological remains of the Imperial Villa of Constantine, on Claudian Aqueduct begun by Calligola or on the enchanting square of Saint Cross in Jerusalem, restructured in occasion of the 2000 Jubilee. From the balcony of The Domus Sessoriana the guests can enjoy the view who overlooks Saint John in Laterano's Basilica, The Monastery Gardens of Saint Cross in Jerusalem and the roofs of Rome; on clear days it is also possible to admire the Roman Castles.The structure disposes of 60 rooms of various dimensions and different typologies: singles, doubles, a three and four bed, junior suites and suites.
