The staff upon check-in was excellent. He was very friendly and accommodating, not only to me but to the three other guest I heard him interact with. The room surprised me with a microwave and frig. (but no coffee).
Something petty, but two of the doors coming into the hotel had to be pulled (or pushed) which was difficult when carrying luggage. They did not offer coffee in the room, but had it in the lobby. I was surprised that there was a microwave and frig.!Everything was above my expectations. The room had an extra large, flat screen TV, a microwave and refrigerator. The pool area looked inviting
It was close to the historic district. Walking distance if you don't mind a bit of a walk, not far to drive if you choose to drive. Front desk staff was very courteous and accommodating.
The rate was high for the condition of the hotel. For over --- per night, I expected a refrigerator and microwave. It was clean enough, but not exceptional. Could use a little more effort, to be honest. Not complaining, but room for improvement.Quite honestly, I would have been more happy if the rate were at about $90. I understand the whole 'going rate' approach, but I felt our room did not warrant the --- per night we paid after taxes. We expected a little more amenities for the price. More reasonable rate would be about $90 and still turn a profit for the owner. I won't pay that much to stay here again.
they allow pets, bed need replacing, rooms are small, can hear the next door room talking etc.I don't know how you can call this place a two and half star hotel, it doesn't even rate a one star.
The first room they put me in was old and filthy- rusty fixtures, nasty carpet, holes in walls and cigarette burns in the bedspread, with the thinnest blanket ever on a very uncomfortable mattress. The room was part of a suite, which separated me through a very thin door from the loudest, most obnoxious, drunk guests EVER! They had come in after I was just settling into my disgust of the room and trying to get some work done. Since it was only about 9:30 pm, I thought they had a right to be a bit loud- it was their room after all, and not their fault the walls were so thin. But it continued. For HOURS. And then they started SMOKING in a non smoking room, squeaking dog toys, pounding on the bathroom door...UGH. I finally asked to switch rooms. The second room they gave me was just a tad better, but they offered nothing for my inconvenience. I had booked this room at a higher rate than most, expecting you get what you pay for. (The next even...
The bathrooms were deplorable. The rooms were filthy with buildup of fingerprints and smudge marks on entry door. The telephone in the room was inoperative. The adjoining door to next room was cracked from what appeared to be an attempted forced entry.
I thought the on sight denny's was really convinient, and there is a trolly stop about two blocks over! (great walking distance) and all the other big attractios are just a street away! The hotel room was better than what I expected for the price we paid.
There was a hotel maid who seemed a bot bothrred when we asked for more towels and shampoo and I couldnt really get a good wifi signal from our room :/ but but we were really soo busy thoughout our day that it didnt bother us that much.Theres wa waitress at the dennys who needs to lay off the prozac, lol.
The staff is really nice.
3 star hotel in a 1 1/2 star area. Seems kind of shady. Someone was shot in the parking lot outside our Window at 4:25 a.m.
It's close location to attractions.
The room smelled like mildew. The AC unit's filter was thick with dust showing that it'd been some time since proper cleaning. The lock and handle on my rooms door were also faulty, which was a constant security worry when I'd leave the room. After the problems I've already mentioned were told to the staff, they just shrugged. Gee, thanks a lot. The motel right next door is going thru renovations, so expect some litter and trash with every wind gust, as well as some shady looking people walking around in the late evening hours.
Though the hotel was very basic, it was in line with the description offered and what we expected.
The hotel is not 'in the heart' of the historic district. It is within walking distance for those that are able to walk a mile or so, but be advised of the location.I felt like we 'got what we paid for.' The hotel room was clean, safe, and hotel staff was helpful. We parked when we arrived, and didn't drive again for the rest of the weekend. We utilized the local trolly system during the day, and walked back to the hotel in the evenings. Overall, the money we saved by staying at this hotel allowed us to spend more on drinks, dinner, etc., and we were okay with that. Overall, happy with the hotel.
