Central location and old-world charm
The attic bedroom - it didn't fit round a 1m80 man very well !
just a short walk from the beach
advertised that it was waterfront when in fact it was not. Staff seemed stressed out & hurried. door locked at night & needed a key to get out. Difficult if there were an emergency. rooms near the front door were affected by the noisy front door when guests were coming in at all hours of the night.
Nice building, close to beach
Room was very small and facilities (no hairdryer) are old, which woud be okay if it was cheaper. Windows looked onto wall. Price was anounced as special offer, but was normal for the season; higher price was for high season, which has been long over. Breakfast was not in Hotel but in a bar (but with friendly service if a bit expensive), I was told about this after I payed. The lady put taxes for 2 persons on the bill even though I was alone. I wouldn't have stayed, if I had not already made reservation.
It was in a really good position near the beach, not too noisy but close enough to shops and restauarants etc. It is family run and they were helpful. It was reasonably priced because St jean-de-Luz is a delightful but rather expensive town. The hotel arranged parking in the public car park just around the corner at €8 a day - very convenient.
The hotel could do with some repairs and smartening up. There is no indoor cafe or restaurant area, only in the courtyard and mornings are quite chilly for sitting out by mid-September.
We had a good stay just steps from the sea and all the small city's shops and restaurants. The room was small, but we had what we needed. As there was only a twin room left when I booked, the staff of the hotel built the bed in a 'double', so that was very kind of them. It was a very nice little holiday in charming, lovely St. Jean de Luz.
