Situated on the renowned Getreidegasse road, the hotel introduces guests to the city’s captivating character. Across from the Festival Hall and down the street from Mozart’s house, we are just a short walk from designer boutiques and the Salzach River. Our two authentic Austrian restaurants and renowned bar are Salzburg’s top pre- and post-theater haunts, paying homage to the city’s rich bohemian heritage. Distinguished event spaces make the Hotel Goldener Hirsch ideal for meetings and weddings. Our 70 guest rooms and suites boast authentic Salzburg-style décor handpicked by Countess Harriet Walderdorff. The original antiques, handmade furniture, and native rag rugs are opulent and discreet, and honor 600 years of hotel history.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel is on a cute street in Salzburg, very close to shops, restaurants, and tourist sites. We would definitely stay here again!
This is a fantastic hotel! If you like antiques in your room and helpful staff attentiveness, this is the place to stay. The restraint is fantastic. Don't go to it if you want new fusion type food. The menu is very traditional. Each meal was prepared as if your Gran muter was in the kitchen herself. ( I don't know the German word for grand mother, I'm just guessing.) My wife couldn't have been happier with the stay.
Comforters- I tend to be a little warm. The big down comforters were a little to warm for me.
Hotel Goldener Hirsch had all the promised alpine charm of a 700-year old hotel. The decor was quaint and we received a free two-level upgrade on our room. Very spacious as a result. Staff was remarkably courteous.
A bit expensive for the included amenities, and the old world charm means some amenities are missing or outdated.
The location of the hotel. We enjoyed staying in the 'old' part of Salzburg.
Great location - easy to walk to everything.
Wonderful staff and perfect location
The carpet, TV stand, small sofa and small table and chairs felt a bit cheap and out of place with the rest of the hotel
charming small hotel in centre of town
very noisy at night
One of the world's best hotels!
