San Antonio International has parking situated directly across the street from its two terminal buildings. The airport has 6,000 parking spaces and offers motorist assistance services including free battery boosts, assistance locating vehicles, and a free service-via the Airport Police-to assist motorists locked out of their cars.

San Antonio parking features 'Exit Express." Under this system, motorists pay for their parking with a debit or credit card at kiosks within the terminal building prior to returning to their car. They receive a receipt from the kiosk which they later insert in a machine in special exit lanes as they drive out of the lot. This can save several minutes in line, particularly at peak periods.

Across from Terminal 1 is a parking garage, and across from Terminal 2 is an outdoor lot. Both are used for outdoor, short term parking. The hourly parking lot and the garage have the same rate structure as the garage ($1 for the second half hour, $2 for the third half hour, and is $1 for each additional hour thereafter,) with a daily maximum charge of $22.

Cell Phone Waiting Lot

San Antonio, like some other airports, has inaugurated a special free 'cell phone waiting' lot consisting of 28 spaces set aside for drivers needing to park temporarily while waiting to pick up arriving passengers. This lot is located on West Terminal Drive a short drive away from the two terminal buildings.

Long Term Parking

Moving past the Short Term parking away from the Terminal buildings, one finds the long term parking lot and long term garage, which is closest to Terminal 1. Both share the same rate structure: the first half hour is free, the second half hour is $2, and subsequent hours are $2 each up to the daily maximum charge of $10.

Discount Airport Parking

The economy parking is in a lot which is the greatest distance from the Terminals of any parking option, and is the least expensive. Rates for economy parking are first half hour free, second half hour $2, each additional hour is $2 up to daily maximum of $5. Free shuttle service is available 24 hours per day between economy parking and the two terminal buildings.
