We have been staying here every Christmas for 5 years. The older couple who managed it previously weren't there this year. The guy at front desk isn't very friendly. The clean rooms and free parking still make it a great place to stay.

Just what I needed at the time, mini-fridge, kitchen, helpful staff, clean bathrooms. Great location. Great bagel place up the road. The trolley down by the Wharf drops you just a few blocks from the hotel.

There are three things I really like about this hotel...it's clean, the location is great and parking is free. The parking is also right below your room (old school) so no valet or walking to a parking garage. This hotel is within walking distance to so many great restaurants and shopping. We even take morning walks all the way to the Marina district. The negatives would be that there is no late check in after 11pm (I think that's the time). And, if you are an aesthetic snob : ) it is definitely 80's decor. We are always pleased with our stay here.

My Husband and I stayed in a King Bed room a couple of days here at 2007 New Year's Eve. We drove to SF, so the great thing about this place is free parking right in the Nob Hill of SF, which is at a convenient and safe location. The room is pretty clean, we do feel the bath room is tight. A senior couple, who is in charge of the front desk, are nice and friendly. Because of the New Year, the price was hiked up when we were there. This time my husband need to visit SF, I booked this hotel again. Don't know that nice couple is still there...

We found the staff very helpful and the rooms clean and affordable with a good location to tour the city with a car. Big dissappointment is the cost of parking tickets on the street. No parking cost at the motel. Frank and Judy our hosts met all our local needs cheerfully. We would return on our next visit.

My family and I stayed at the Nob Hill Motor Inn from August 11 to August 12, 2009, and our stay was nothing short of terrible. Once we: (1) drove up to the property and realized that the photo on its website is not at all representative of the rest of the building; (2) learned after checking in that the advertised Continental Breakfast would be nothing more than some sweet rolls on a plate in the office; and (3) entered our room and immediately noticed that it certainly had not been newly renovated and heard every footstep of the family in the suite above us, we knew that the property had been misrepresented to us and the public and that we had made a gigantic mistake in selecting this motel. I asked the manager if there was another suite to which we could move and she told me that no other large enough room was available for the four of us, but she urged me to let her know if we had any problems, because she could only help us if she knew about our problems. I later called her tw...

Convenient to many trolley lines. Free on site parking is unusual in S.F. and was a key reason for choosing this hotel. Didn't need to use car for most touring, very convenient to many trolley lines. Manager is extremely helpful in giving directions & suggestions. Large room with mic, fridge, table & chairs great for our family with 3 teenage boys. Nice residential safe area, we walked at night to grocery store. Good to be staying away from noisy tourist locations.
