The Mercure San Sebastián Monte Igueldo hotel is ideally located on Monte Igueldo, offering panoramic views over the sea and the Bay of La Concha. It is connected to the city by a fully functional 100-year-old funicular railway. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, which is open in July, August and September, meeting rooms for business meetings or events, and El Torreón restaurant, where guests can discover Basque cuisine. No pets.
The view from the balcony over the Playa de la Concha was really beautiful and the hotel was great value for money. The staff were very helpful and the room was definitely 4* standard. Overall a very nice break!
As the hotel is up on the cliff overlooking the bay, you can expect to pay 10 euros each way to take a taxi to the old town. Even though we had a hire car we were advised by the hotel staff that parking in San Sebastian is quite difficult so we ended up spending quite a lot on taxis.
A wonderfully romantic, old-world hotel, with the current luxuries of the modern age! The Mercure Monte Igueldo is set in what must be one of the most beautiful locations in the World. The views from the Hotel are truly breathtaking and the price just can't be beat!
