New and clean.
Very nice hotel, but seriously overpriced. Outdated 1980's decor and style.
good ratio quality/money
really close to the city centre, 15 minutes walk. Nice bed, good bathroom.
Excellent! Great hotel!
the cleanliness of the bathroom. We changed room once and the new one wasn't better.
The hotel was fabulous and the rates we got with yourselves were excellent, 75 euros per night for the room for bed and breakfast, unbelievable!
I was meeting a very good friend that I hadn't seen in six weeks. We stayed in for three days straight and ordered room service. The staff offered complete privacy which was wonderful. My friend and I will always remember this time we had together to talk, talk, talk.
Yes, unfortunately, the trays from our room service were not picked up promptly. It was a bit embarassing to see them accumulating outside our room especially when we took the time to inform the staff that they were ready to be picked up. We felt a bit ignored.
'English Breakfast' cold and not replenished quickly,
I loved the ease of staying at the Gran Hotel Santiago, the room was quickly and efficiently cleaned and everything was tidied nicely. My son (6 years) said we have to stay there again for their toasted ham and cheese sandwiches! I'm allergic to fish and when we didn't understand some of the items on the dinner menu, they carefully wrote a translation so that I was reassured about what I could and could not eat. The hotel is really well placed for going into the main town of Santiago, we actually walked all the way because the bus didn't turn up. It is also close enough to take a taxi back from the town centre, without it costing the earth!
I thought the cooked food for breakfast was not good, the quality of the sausages and eggs were terrible. However, they also had pastries, toast, cheese etc so there was plenty else to choose from. In the room, the TV does not swivel so you can only view it from one bed. Minor problems compared with the rest of the place.
