The hotel was positioned near a river and had some nice views, a short walk over river via foot bridges and you found yourself in a very old and pictures city centre. Found Some good food and a selection of local bars.
The bar could have been better, it is only very small and on our second evening was closed on our return froma walk at 10.00pm. No chance of a night cap.
Restaruant was closed. Car parking poor.
The hotel staff was cooperative, welcoming, attentive. The food in their restaurant was excellent... and I'm not easily impressed. The local white wines were excellent examples of reisling. I felt I was in the heart of a lovely town. The walks invited you to tour the city. It was a comfortable, well designed update of an older building and made me feel apart of this lovely old river town.
No AC and thus it can be quite noisy at night, especially since one of the nights I was there was "band night," a city wide promotion that featured many types of music in many venues. There was no escaping the noise until 2:30 in the morning. Such is life.
The staff went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable such as setting out breakfast for me at 5:30 am as I had to catch an early train. The free wi fi in the room was a pleasant change from my other hotel experiencews.
There is nothing to mention in this category.
it is central in the town
