Nice room with decent, clean kitchen setup. Staff is friendly and location is convenient to all locations in northern NJ and NYC.
very soft mattress, couldnt sleep comfortably.....
Spent one night Labor Day weekend. Air conditioner unit had pieces on the floor, big hole in the bathroom ceiling where we guess the fan should have been, and mold on the ceiling above the shower along with long hair. Front desk staff could not provide clear directions to nearby restaurants.
Since I had previously stayed at another Candlewood Suites property that was just so-so, I didn't expect much from my stay at the Candlewood in Secaucus. However, I'm pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised. In comparison to the room at the Jersey City property, which was very dated, the decor at the Secaucus property is nicely updated with wood flooring at the entry way, modern appliances and countertops in the kitchen and bathroom and comfortable bedding. The studio unit wasn't very large, yet it was very comfortable. They did provide toiletries, which was unexpected and everything was very clean. I would definitely stay again.
Stayed here for a night on 3/27/2010. The hotel is less than 1 year old, still smells new. Our room was clean (Studio suite with 2 double beds non smoking) and comfortably sleep 4 guests. We paid $125 + taxes.
My husband & I stayed here 12/2009 for our combined Anniversary/HisB-day/Christmas weekend. The room was a Studio Suite w/a Queen bed and it was great! Nicely equiped w/the Kitchen, which came in handy after the NY Giants game as we were starving. The staff was extremely curteous, got us transportation to and from NYC & the Meadowlands quickly, and they were EXTREMELY helpfull when we took our day trip into NYC and got lost on the sub-way. The only bad thing about the room is that it was very warm, but other than that, it was a perfect fit for our weekend stay. I definitely recommend it, and I think we plan on booking again this December, and we cant wait!!!!!!!
This is a fairly new hotel and is in a good location.Close to the Train to New York as well as a Major shopping mall.Rooms are clean and the building is well taken care of.Good value for the money.
My husband and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary so we could go to the city. The location is absolutely perfect and the room was fantastic!!! The kitchenette was a great amenity to have as we didn't have to spend a ton of money in the city to eat. We were only about 5 minutes from the transit, which was only a 5-10 minute ride right into Penn station in Madison square gardens. We were able to drive ourselves to the transit and park for only $* for the whole day..on a Saturday. Whenever we want to go to the city we will stay at this hotel every time. The room and hotel were extremely clean and the location was great. We could even see the city skyline from our room! Not to mention that the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.
I stayed here while on vacation with my kids. I am a single mom, and was sooo nervous to visit NYC for the first time! The area is very safe!! Never had a concern. I got lost on the way in, the front desk talked me through directions! The front desk was very helpful!! They printed me directions to the Liberty Ferry and BACK!!! Printed me directions to the grocery store!! And gave me a wealth of information about visiting the city! The staff even offered that if I were lost, or need any questions answered that I could always call! The Good Fellow taxi service took us to the Secaucus Juntion only like 5 minutes away, we took the subway to Madison Square Garden/Penn station, right smack in the middle of Manhatten, we walked to the Empire State Bldg.!! This is great location to stay! The room had a kitchenette, so we didn't have to eat out every meal! Suites are brand new!! Very luxurious!! Beautiful bathrooms! Comfy, comfy beds!!I loved my vacation in NY!! Thank you Candlewood!! We will be back!!
I found this hotel through a search when I was in working. The transportation from NY Penn Station to secaucus it was easy. It was only 10 minutes. But you need to be carefull when you take the Taxi to the hotel is only 6 to 7 dollars and a guy try to charge me $20 so be careful. Overral, the hotel was clean and the staff were nice. Fitness center good too. On the room we have a fridge, stoveµwave(en case you like to cook). The hotel is quiet and confortable. I higly recomed it !!!!!! Enjoy !! and it is brand new.. What else you can ask?
