With news of the war in Ukraine raising questions about travel, here is what to keep in mind as this event continues to develop. News as of 03/09/2022.

  • How will this conflict affect travel as a whole?

    Recent sanctions placed on Russia have increased fuel prices, which will eventually make air travel more expensive and more immediately felt by rental car drivers at the gas pump.
  • Can I fly to Europe right now?

    Keeping in mind that some  US travelers worry about their summer travel plans, airlines are still servicing destinations, with exception to areas of conflict, and are keeping their distance from Eastern European airspace.
  • What about flying to Russia?

    As of last week, the US government stated that it will be closing off airspace to Russian planes, adding to the list of countries around the world also taking this precaution.
  • Will my international flight be diverted?

    According to the AP, many airlines in and surrounding Ukraine are re-routing or canceling flights as a precautionary measure to avoid any sort of conflict.
