Top 10 Trending Summer Destinations

  1. Kona, Hawaii

A great adventure destination, The Big Island saw a 48% increase in flight searches versus last summer. Besides surf lessons, make sure you get involved in one of the local festivals like the one on June 11, where thousands honor Kamehameha I with hula, history and music at the northern tip of the Big Island. What’s better than a memory involving hula skirts?

  1. Toronto, Canada

According to our Summer Travel Hacker data, July has the lowest median airfare ($362) for the summer months, so pack your bags and head up north to catch some of the Pan Am Games, kicking off July 10th and running through the 26th. With a 44% increase in flight searches versus last summer, pack your pom-poms because you won’t be the only one cheering your team on.

  1. Hyderabad, India

This Indian metropolis has landed on several of our top 10 lists in 2015 and with a 39% increase in flight searches versus last summer, it’s a top trending summer destination too. The Great Summer Carnival runs through June 7 at Ramoji Film City, the world’s largest film studio complex. And if you can’t make it to the carnival, this tech hub has plenty of bustling street markets and nightlife to keep you occupied.

  1. Milan, Italy

Feel like you’ve heard Milan out of our mouths more than once this year? That’s because this European city has landed on four of our Top 10 lists in 2015. The World Expo, taking place May 1 – Oct 31, is dedicated to food, nutrition and sustainability – consider checking it out in September, when median airfare is at its lowest for the summer months ($845).

  1. Vancouver, Canada

If you’re looking to show your patriotism, Canada’s where it’s at this summer. Besides the Pan Am Games in Toronto, Vancouver is playing host to nine matches in the Women’s World Cup, including the final on July 5.
