Ballin’ on a budget… airline?

We love budget airlines for what they are: Cheap and no-frills. This is why we were particularly intrigued by Spirit and Frontier’s plan to join forces. But travelers may be hesitant to try them, which is a shame. Here are some common questions, answered:

  • Why is an airline considered “budget”?
In many, you’ll just get the basics – any comforts will cost you extra.
  • Does that mean they’re sometimes less safe?
No. These carriers are no less/more safe than their larger counterparts.
  • How is this different from basic economy?
With most flights, you have to choose the basic option. With budget, it’s the only option.
  • What’s included? What will I pay for?
Included: your seat. Pay for: drinks, entertainment, snacks, printed boarding pass, etc…
