What exactly are OpenTable Dining Points? When you make and honor a restaurant reservation through OpenTable’s site or app, you have the option to earn “points” for your reservation. Collect enough points, and you can use them towards various rewards like a gift card. And starting now, users that have racked up 1,000 points or more can begin redeeming them to save up to $80 on their hotel stay.
From discounts on boutique properties to international favorites, here’s how it all works:
1) Eat out. Earn points.
Register for a (free) OpenTable account and start finding the perfect place to eat. Before you complete your restaurant reservation on OpenTable, be sure to select the option to earn Dining Points when booking your table. After you show up to the restaurant, these points will be added to your account.
2) Find the perfect hotel.
Once you’ve earned at least 1,000 points and are ready to plan your next trip, log into your account on OpenTable.com to view your points and see your reward amount towards hotels on KAYAK. Select “Redeem” to be sent to kayak.com/diningrewards to start your hotel search. Search hundreds of travel and hotel sites at once, filter by the amenities you want (internet access? pool? solarium?) and there it is, the perfect hotel.
3) Save cash money.
Found the hotel you want? Choose to redeem some or all of your Dining Points on KAYAK to save between $20-$80 on your stay. Enter and confirm your information then select “Confirm Reservation” to book your stay.
