Not a luxury hotel by any sense, but I was looking for something close to the University of NM. The staff was friendly at ALL hours, and super helpful with advice for local dining.

The rooms were falling apart, the bathroom had low water pressure, the breakfast was just as bland as could be. Sorry, this is not a three star motel. There was NO free internet.

Oh my gosh, this place needs a major face lift. The room we stayed in smelled like cigarette smoke. Don't believe the pictures you see on the internet they are very misleading. This place looks old and rundown. We were very anxious to check out. No sooner you walk in the lobby you can smell the odor of old stale musty air. I cannot believe that this place has security guards makes me wonder what the heck they are guarding. (Maybe they are holding the door in place) Our room was full of moths and we had to giggle the toilet handle to get it to stop running. The plastic lawn chairs on the balcony were busted and broken and the rails were unstable. The television had only 24 channels no pay channels. To quote Dorothy from the movie 'The Wizard of Oz' THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

We got a really good price for a nice double room with a balcony over looking the city. Breakfast was good and the shuttle was nice touch - but what really stood out was the staff. Everyone seemed sincerly concerned with us having a good stay and helped us at every turn.

Inside room was ok for price. Location good. I asked to have the excercise room cleaned and it never did over three days.

The king room that I originally reserved was NOISY since it faced I-25 and the sliding door didn't work/seal properly. The Plaza Inn is in the midst of renovations and this may be addressed with a sound reduction sliding door. Until then, be sure to request a room on the other side of the hotel or bring earplugs. Staff was responsive and moved us to a queen room which was small. Furniture was aged/worn, lampshades broken, tight fit in room for two people, bathroom nothing impressive- no vent fan. The price was right but the main reason for choosing it was not the price. If the same reason existed for choosing it initially, I would stay there again, but would not, if those reasons changed. Not sure that renovations will fix the basic problems with this hotel. If someone needs access to local hospitals, this is a good location. If you're looking for a hotel to stay at in the Albuquerque area, there are several much better places to stay.

The staff at the Plaza were excellent. The shuttle service meant we didn't have to worry about parking downtown. The website said that the hotel had undergone a remodel- I couldn't tell by the room we were in. That said, it was a comfortable room and the hotel is well located.

I enjoyed the stay and the added benefits I found when I was there. The shuttle to anywhere within a few miles of the hotel was the best thing ever. Was like having my own tour guide. The drivers were a great resource. Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel.

I got a good price on a room and so I was reasonably satisfied. However, the room was, shall we say, 'tired'. Small areas of damage to walls, furniture, etc. that went unrepaired and unreplaced. I am not sure if the entire hotel was like my room. Perhaps parts have been renovated to the point where they actually look like the photos. I was in the lower level which almost feels like a basement - if you have any choice, ask not to be on that floor. However, I suspect that's how I got my good price. I appreciated the shuttle service and I had no serious complaints, but if you are sensitive to the superficial appearance of your room you won't like the one I was in. There is no place to eat within walking distance - the adjoining restaurant is closed, with no indication it will reopen. Actually, I guess you could walk to the Embassy Suites on the other side of the freeway.
