Aging hotel. Friendly service, but they were very understaffed. The breakfast wasn’t great - coffee and juices tasted awful. The room did seem clean, but furniture needs to be updated (peeling leather, etc).
Pros:Location was the only plus, as we wanted a hotel closer to the canyon. Housekeeping could not keep up with the busy weekend. Our rooms were so dirty at arrival, we requested to change rooms to another "cleanish" room. To be fair, they were in the middle of updating the hotel, but cleanliness issues had nothing to do with the renovations. If you have no choice but to stay at the Ventura location, make sure you get a very low price, or you will feel cheated. Or wait until the renovations are complete, and hopefully they will have resolved their housekeeping issues
Pros:Location to restaurants and stores.
Cons:The hotel looks new from the outside, however it is deceiving. Upkeep of hotel could be better. Mattress covers aren't washed, had old blood stain and hairs all over. Walls have lots of stains. Ketchup splatter on walls not cleaned. Pool area had bad odor.
Cons:there was trash still in the room. empty pizza box and dirty plates. also no remote and the breakfast was limited.
