This beautiful Amoudara hotel on the Greek island of Crete provides an inviting presentation with its Spanish-style roof and welcoming yellow shade punctuated by the tropical essence of green palm trees surrounding it. The Minoas hotel is a great place to stay whether you just need a place to relax or are looking for a home base from which to explore the island. For relaxing, the seasonal outdoor swimming pool offers a mesmerizing place to kick back in a lounge chair, feel the breezes on your skin, and take in the garden of flowers and palm trees that surround you. As you work on your tan, your children can play on the outdoor slide or run through the soft grass that envelopes the pool area. The beach is just a short walk from the hotel, and is the perfect setting for tanning or water sports such as windsurfing and scuba diving. For exploring, buses leave every twenty minutes from the bus stop outside the hotel for the town of Heraklio, and scooter rental is also available nearby. From there, the possibilities are limitless if you want to set your sites on other parts of the island. If you choose to remain close by, there are plenty of nearby shops, restaurants, and nightclubs to choose from. This accommodation provides free wireless Internet access in the public areas of the hotel. Free outdoor parking is available on site. Pets are not allowed.
An inexpensive hotel reachable by direct local bus from the airport. We got what we paid for.
Nothing I cannot express one positive comment with regard to this hotel except that it is located in Greece
Everything cement ceiling and walls and even the mattress was on cement pad room was about 8 feet by 16 feet , it was like a prison cell I hated it could not wait for the morning so I could leave, cigarette buts in ashtray , musty smell and stinky very unpleasant stay was not worth even 30 euro in my opinion
It's ok for one night. Rooms dingy with ugly exposed walls and bathroom with no shower curtain. Breakfast was very frugal. Reception was not the friendliest either.
Hotel is very close to the beach and to great restaurants (especially beachside ones). You can get straight to the hotel by bus no 6 from the airport - a huge advantage. The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel, and the bus goes straight to the city center. Staff is very nice.
Hotel does not take credit cards, despite what it says on this website. The pool is quite small. There is no restaurant in the hotel. The whole place was furbished in the 70-ties and never renovated. The walls and ceilings are not even painted. The rooms smell really weird when the AC is off. There are annoying cost-saving measures in place (AC switches off when you leave the room or open the window). It is impossible to close the door so the maid will not walk in on you. And they do so - every morning (and there aren't any "do not disturb" signs).
