Woke up to bugs in my bed (sheets and blankets)...horrible.
Stayed at another Extended Stay Deluxe just a few days ago & was pleased so I was expecting the same experience here. Unfortunately that was not the case. Was asked to 'wait a few minutes' upon check-in because it was shift change, was placed in a 'maintenance' room (wall lamp hanging off the wall, closet doors off & leaning against a wall), was placed in another room BY HOUSEKEEPING and the bed frame holding up the foot of the bed was detached, there was a rod hanging from the ac unit & there's a hole from some kind of burn in the freezer :(
This was my 1st stay at an Extended Stay Deluxe hotel, it won't be my last. The room was very clean, great space to work and a great bed. I could not ask for more. One of my associates who stayed at the Hilton down the street, for the same conference, liked my room better and it was half the price.
Got this as a blind deal. It was listed as a 3 star hotel. Not evend close. Offer said breakfast was included, wasn't. Said it had a full kitchen, nope. A microwave and fridge do not make a full kitchen . If it were a single person, it would have been fine, but we were a family. Kids ended up sharing a twin pullout bed.
Hotel was fair for the money. Nothing special. I arrived earlier than the standard 3 pm check in and the front desk staff person would not let me check in; although I suspect there were rooms available and ready. It was a pain and I was obvisouly tired from the trip but I did not put up much of a fuss. Overall the room was adequate.
The rooms are very nice, and clean at this hotel. However, I did not appreciate the service that I received while staying at the extended stay in sandy springs. There was a HUGE mix up with the payment, and they came rudely to my room door and asked me to leave unless I paid now, I informed them that I already paid. The situation was very embarassing it involved the police, as well as I had to leave in my pajamas. The one thing I will say is that the head manager cooperated very well. And I think it was just the attitude of one employee that really caused me to have an unhappy experience.
I cannot believe this hotel gets 3 stars. It doesn't even deserve 2 in my opinion. There was no lobby, the 24 hour coffee bar did not exist and I had to wait 10 minutes to check in while I listened to the front desk employee carry on a personal telephone conversation. The room was sub-par. The sofa (loveseat really) had holes all over it and was very worn out. The cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom were stripped, dented, peeling - just gross. The remote control to the TV would only turn channels by putting in numbers, you could not go up and down, and the volume did not work on the remote. The toilet ran every single time until I went to jiggle the handle. The only way to turn 2 of the lamps on and off was to unplug/plug them. I also was told I could get a late check out (a whole 30 minutes) when I checked in, but the next morning I was harassed by the housekeepers knocking - twice after I told them I was checking out late - and then by the front desk calling my room. I have been very satisfied with 3 stars in the past, but this one was a huge disappointment. Would not stay again, would not recommend to anyone.
I was driving through Atlanta for the night and booked this hotel as a secret hotel at a very low rate. The hotel overall was fine. Front desk staff was very friendly and called my room a few min after I checked in to make sure it was ok. They have several food delivery options available...expensive but I was willing to pay since I wasn't feeling well. The only downside was the a/c was a little loud and made it difficult to fall asleep. For the price, I'll definitely come back.
The staff is helpful and considerate. The printer was down, but the manager offered to print off my documents from her office printer. Rooms are clean. Internet is slow and makes it impossible to watch streaming videos. Checking email and web browsing is ok. Breakfast only has bagels and coffee.
Extended Stay Deluxe was located in a beautiful business park area that is very well maintained, however the hotel was NOT. It is rated a 3 star, probably because of the amenities that it has. I would NOT consider it a 3 star! The location was awesome, only about a mile off of I-285. Lots of restaurants and shopping conveniently located near the hotel. However, we had a very poor night's sleep...the bath room is located right beside the bed and the toilet made a constant dripping sound, shutting the bathroom door helped, however it could not muffle out the sound of the refrigerator which would make a very loud mechanical banging/clanging noise every time it cycled off. We wanted to try to drown out the noises by turning on the air conditioner fan, but that would not run either. There were other repairs needed too.. the bathroom drain did not work properly and the nightstand light would not work. If the room was in need of so many repairs, we wondered how well they were being cleaned. On the surface, it did look clean. Beware if you visit this property, they have a model room open and available for inspection before you decide to stay there. This room is perfect...not the room that you might actually get! The breakfast in the morning was in a tiny room, the size of a closet. They had several green apples, Ottis Spunkmeyer plain bagels individually packaged and some packets of butter. I didn't know Ottis S. made bagels, but it looked so pathetic that we went out for breakfast. As bad as the room was, we found the hotel staff to be very friendly. We had arrived at 1:00am and the evening staff was very friendly and courteous.
I called early in the afternoon to say I'd be late, and they said fine. When I arrived at l0:30 PM I was sent to an unclean room with wet towels on the sofa, then a room with all the furniture piled on the bed. The desk clerk then took me to a third room which was clean, but very small and very hot. It took until 2 am to get it cool enough to sleep. I realize that on the date I stayed there Atlanta had flooding and some housekeepers may not have come to work. But they still should have known which rooms were clean and which weren't, and should have had a clean, cool room waiting for me. I was in Atlanta for a funeral and this experience didn't make my time any cheerier. I will not stay here again.
Pros: Nice sized room with kitchette; friendly staff, great location for my purposes, one of the best irons I've ever used! Cons: The front desk closes at 11pm to 7am!!!! No staff is available to help you! I had to leave my training at a nearby hospital and return to hotel to check out! The sheets were stained and had someone else's hair on them - Ugh! I slept in my clothes. Towels were really, really rough - need fabric softener!!!
Good: Great upscale location- minutes from restaurants, shopping, and a nice mall, short drive to downtown Atlanta. The price was competative, clean hotel and room, nice to have a kitchen, staff was very polite, adequate breakfast in the mornings, pet friendly. Bad: Musty smell in room, clicking A/C, no batteries in television remote, very firm bed, there was no 24/7 coffee bar which was advertised. After discovering that the toilet was clogged from the previous occupants, I was given a plunger and towels to fix the problem myself.
The breafast that was promised never appeared or was incomplete. I had to change rooms because of a water leak in the ceiling. The beds were not as promised!
I enjoyed the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. Fair wireless internet. You need to be aware that although there is an in-room coffee maker, they only supply one day's worth of coffee. Bagels only for the provided breakfast. Bring your own shampoo and soap. Good fridge, stove and microwave, nearby grocery store.I'd go back, for sure.
You will love this! This is for anyone who loves the nature of a home atmosphere. It gives a taste of you personal environment away from the original location. This is an awesome hotel for a family vacation.
For the price, this is a great deal. Spacious rooms, plenty of storage for extended stays, Friendly employees.
