Large & clean pool Clean outdoor Jacuzzi/hot tub Lobby Computer to print boarding pass Free Wi-Fi Fitness Center Great Restaurant Onsite (The Bull Shed) Try their beef brisket. Good Central Location that is roughly 2 hours from Pismo Beach and about 2 hours from the Sequoia National Park (Giant Sequoia trees).
Dirty-looking Sheets and towels (probably just stained) Electric outlets were not all in working order (I assumed it was the iron and got a replacement just to find-out the power outlet did not work.) "Free" Breakfast (Biscuits and Gravy were very soupy and only 1 out of 3 mornings was there an alternative of bacon and eggs. I was typically there from 6AM - 7AM each morning so unless it was too early but posted 6AM to 10AM) Basic Cable with no HBO/premium channels (Luckily I did not spend much time in the hotel room).
The hotel is near downtown and plenty of places to eat.
The pool was closed for repair. This happened last year also. They should have the pool maintenance complete during the month of Feb. Spring break for many cities is March/April. This trip we our room wasn't ready till after 4pm we were told 3:00. The lady at front desk was VERY nice and she made a note of it.
First room...very low volume from hot water faucet in bath. Left water on for approx. 5 minutes...never got hot. Second room...no coffee or cups...had hot water though. Needed new vent in bath...very noisy felt sorry for people above us. Will I say next year? undecided....each year facility has more issues. STAFF IS GREAT THOUGH...EASY TO DEAL WITH..GREAT FRT DESK!!
Location, cleanliness of the room and the front desk were very nice.
Breakfast buffet was very limited. Could have had a better variety of items.
The room was clean.
The water was brown. The phones didn't work. The walls were broken and patched. Our room had no patio of view like most of the other rooms did. The sink had no plug. Half of the lamps didn't work. The bedside table was broken. There were crazy power strips everywhere. The window had no screen. The door was beat up and old. On top of this, the staff at the front desk was rude. I will never stay here again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
Worn out look of room.
This hotel was quiet, and a good price, while still being fairly centrally located with easy access to Bakersfield and the surrounding area. The room was spacious and clean. We didn't have a chance to use the pool, but it was large, with lots of areas for groups to hang out.
The central valley is enduring an extreme drought, and yet we saw the sprinklers going in the middle of the afternoon at the hottest part of the day, and a lot of water going onto the concrete sidewalks and parking lot. Also, there was no signage about reusing towels to save water. More environmental conscientiousness would not go amiss.
The breakfast which included in the room price makes it a good deal.
