An elegant hotel in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, palatial and distinguished, set in the cultural, tourist hub of Barcelona, in the urban melting pot where the Roman, Mediaeval, Modernist and Contemporary heritages merge. It is set in a totally refurbished, neo-classical style palatial building. A style that is repeated inside and embraces all the ambiances of its different rooms. This hotel in the centre of Barcelona has 62 exterior-facing rooms, sound-proofed, in modern design and fully equipped with plasma screen TV sets, free Wi-Fi connections, mini-bar, coffet and tea facilities and air conditioning. * When booking more than 5 rooms or more than 7 nights, different policies and additional supplements may apply.
Location is perfect. You are right behind from the gothic area and near La Rambla and across or by a modern area. The jaumi subway is a minute walk away. There are tons of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner in any direction. You won't regret it and I appreciate the reviews that helped us picked this place. There's a small convenient store right next door where you can get water and other necessities.
Bring your own wash cloth, that seems to be something missing in hotels in Spain. Plan on having slow wifi, that's everywhere in Spain it seems. There's nothing wrong to report.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
I thought that the hotel should not be classed as 4 stars. Rooms were small, bed was small and uncomfortable. The pillar beside the toilet would
Good location for sightseeing
Room too small considering price charged for hotel. Hotel staff not interested in
Location was good.
The room was quite shabby and there was mould in the shower cabin. When we arrived, one of the bath towels was on the floor...
The rooms were bright and clean with comfortable beds and nice large bathrooms and showers. The locations was in a part of town we enjoyed.Staff was eager to please and the breakfast rommoffered a good selection.
The room was a little noisey.
The location of the hotel is nice: not so far from the sea, close to the tourist attractions and transport stops.
It is rather a 3-star hotel. we booked a double room but the reception guy gave us a single room. luckily, the room was changed. but still, the furniture and interior was shabby, the door to the bathroom didn't close, the room was dark on the upper floor. we stayed for there for 8 nights but bed-clothes were not changed at all. air-conditioners were old and dirty. in the evening/night noone could make us coffee in the lobby bar as the barmen didn't work late hours. it was impossible to open the windows as it was too noisy outside even at night. besides, one night there was flooding in the hotel (all the floors were in water). We had to move our things walking in water!!! The receptionisits have poor knowledge of English
It is nicely placed within walking distance from most attraction points, the room was and clean and tidy, also spacious and newly furnished with a nice view over Via Laietana and the old city wall. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull. Pleasant and quiet atmosphere.
It would be good if they would have some irons available for clients. I think it would be appreciated by clients that go for business purposes. They have a pressing machine but not all clothing can be pressed there.
There was a very very helpful guy (from the Czech Republic) and we think he was great. Every one at the counter was good too.
great location, close to everything. internet in lobby is convenient.
I soaked the bathroom with first shower: shower door leaks through/bad design. but if you are careful, it works ok.
Hotel valet insisted on calling for a cab when we left for the airport. He insisted that it would be safer than hailing a cab from the street. The driver he arranged was an unsafe theif. who tried, somewhat sucessfully, to grossly overcharge us.
Excellent location, quiet (we had a room at the back), very attentive staff, good buffet breakfast.
We were first given a room that was smaller than a prison cell, and less cheerful too. However, the staff immediately moved us to a bigger room, though still not huge. The rooms are definitely more like a 3* hotel.
