We had a Junior Suite which was lovely. Worth the extra payment.
The heating system seemed to be timed to come on when we were not in the room, so it was chilly at 6 pm and 8.30 a.m. Not too serious as the weather was lovely whilst we were there.
The hotel stuff was very nice, did everything to my comfort. The flatrate internet was also very usefull. The location of the hotel was for me excellent - near the rail station ant the city center.
Sauna, food, location close to the station
The Hotel Bayerischer Hof is a small hotel with a very warm feel. The food is very, very good. The location and the service are excellent. From Desiree at the Front Desk answering all our questions, to Amy in the restuarant who helped us with our car's GPS, we can't say enough about the quality of the popele who work at the hotel. Of particular note was Sonja who runs the resturant at night. She was wonderful. Very charming. We very much enjoyed our chats with her during our meal.
Rooms facing the front of the hotel can be noisy late at night.
The location and my room was a decent size with a nice size bathroom.
Make sure to get a room facing away from the train station if you need to open your window.
Very Central location. Good facilities. Helpful staff. Free Internet. Willingness to allow me to send a parcel by mail for collection when I arrived - especially appreciated.
No air conditioning. No tea/coffee facilities in my room. No refrigerator. I understand that these are not normally found in European hotels.
I was there to attend a performance at the Festspielhaus and the location was perfect for that adn teh old town. Staff were very friendly and I had an excellent lunch from the daily special menu, delicious and extremely good value and service. My standard single room was compact, very clean, comfy bed and met all my needs.
