Located in the old wine merchants district, the 4-star Mercure Bordeaux Château Chartrons hotel is ideal for a family stay and a corporate seminar. Its beautiful Victorian facade lights up the neighborhood and its garden is conducive to relaxation. You will love the facilities: restaurant with terrace, fitness area, family rooms, large meeting rooms, everything is on hand for both work and leisure.
Parking was available for guests, under the property.
There was no lift from parking to Reception - only stairs. Reception staff appeared disinterested in foreign guests. Hotel is a fair distance from the main business / shopping precinct. Promotion material indicate the hotel is located amongst "genteel" neighbourhood. This was definitely an over-statement.
It was calm, quiet and comfortable; reasonably clean and well maintained.
The staff was limited and cleanliness could be improved.
There was no gym in a four star hotel...
Staff were helpful, room was comfortable.
I was unlucky as they were redecorating on first floor so strong smell of paint in corridors. Hotel lacked any real atmosphere. Bit too far from city centre.
Nice welcome. Fair sized room. Good selection for breakfast, excellent food in restaurant and comfortable bar.
Bit further from the town centre than expected and staff in restaurant didn't appear very interested.
