Free high-quality coffee available at all times. Excellent areas for work and study, including the lobby itself, a back library area, and a wonderful mezzanine desk area overlooking the lobby. The mezzanine desks have power outlets and are very peaceful.
Wifi is great in the lobby but sucks in the actual hotel rooms. Service cuts out every 10 seconds and is very slow in the rooms. Also, my first room didn't have heat and the second had too much heat (I extended my stay). The rooms are very adequate considering such a low price in a great part of Boston. It's close enough to the subway and buses. If you need shampoo/soap (not included with hotel stay), there is a 7/11 convenience store right across the street as well as a CVS about 2 blocks away. The included breakfast is good. It's a line where a chef serves you what you ask for, includes: pancakes, sausage, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, grits, apples, bananas. There's reconstit...
photos on website do not necessarily match what youre recieving. they do not give you new towels daily.you get what you pay for ... its cheap. for single travelers on a 1-2 day stay max. 3 days kileld me. location os great. but get ready to get a bit uncomfortable. bathrooms are shared. bring slippers and make sure you have travel size everything bc they do not give you anything (soap, shampoo, conditioner, blowdryer) unless you ask them. and privacy? whats that? be prepared to hear the outside hustle and bustle, outside hall conversattions, front desk advising housekeepingnstaff on loud speaker. in the morning, and everything from te room next door
Yes, first of all this was false advertising - this is not a hotel, it is a HOSTEL. Big difference. The shared bathrooms are terrible. The rooms are cramped and stuffy. The breakfast tastes like cardboard. Overall, I was incredibly dissatisfied. In short, I would not recommend this hostel (not hotel) to anyone.
This hostel is affordable, centrally located, and fun.
The rooms do not have a television. This hostel is located on Berkeley Street, in Boston's South End. It's about five blocks from the Back Bay MBTA subway station. The staff is friendly and caring, willing to assist travelers with queries of any kind. The free breakfast is hearty and tasty. All in all, this is probably one of Boston's best kept secrets for an affordable stay!
Location is perfect, I had no issues to getting to places in right time. There are some restaurants also nearby and a supermarket. Room was spacious.
It is not really a hotel, common bathroom is something I am not used to. A TV would have been a great thing.Safety is good. Rules are not top of head. They keep the luggage for you until you flight time or till you check-in which is a privilege if you do not have a car and let's you start your trip right away.
Breakfast certainly exceeded my expectations. There was both variety and plenty. For the price, the hotel met my expectations. Breakfast was exceptional, and the location was within walking distance of many historic sites for those who enjoy walking.
Shared bathroom and restroomOverall decent hotel, shared bathroom and restroom not convenient but for this cheap price u pay what you got.
Price and location. We were near our evening events and had a view of the Prudential Building. The garden and rocking chair area were nice. Free breakfast was a plus.
The room was not kept up well. There was a sticker on the front door that no one had removed, and the linoleum was stained. The lamp in the room was unusable because it was not located near an outlet. The room is very bare and could use a rug (to cover linoleum stains) and some art on the walls. The Collaboratory rooms in the same building have more extras. Clearly the management believes that visitors to the hostel will steal the extras while guests in the Collaboratory will not.
Thanks a lot for your HOSPITALITY, dear Bostonians!
