Staff were friendly and helpful at both pick up and drop off and the car was new and very comfortable.

We were told that Budget would be open but they were not. We had no rental so we rented from Hertz.

First off I scheduled my intermediate SUV for 12 noon which was when my flight was coming into Richmond Airport , upon arrival to Budget counter there was no vehicles available at the time that was requested, we had to wait 2 hours and did not get a SUV instead we got a Small Toyota Corolla which had a strong odor of marijuana but took it anyways as we had a wedding to attend. Was told by the manager a 20 something young gentleman that because of our wait we could bring the car back without filling up with gas , we were charged over $80 to fill up the vehicle even after manager said he would put a note in the computer. Talked to customer no service for a hour with a call center overseas and tried to get a US based customer service which I would assume now that they do not have one . Customer service said they would give me back $40 for my inconvenience, really that was an insult . I am not happy with Budget rental car whatsoever

We arrived during a snow storm and were heading to the mountains for skiing. The staff said that there were chains in the trunk, but when we got to the place where we need to put on chains, the chains were not there. Drop-off in Messina is quite difficult. The staff were not there during open hours and there is not even a place to pull over in front of the Budget office.

Price was great and I was able to get a vehicle very quickly and easily. My biggest issue was that I selected a Tesla or similar luxury electric vehicle and was downgraded to a Hyundai Venue, which is a subcompact gas SUV. I also had to reach out to budget to ask for a bit of a refund for this downgrade.

Car I reserved was electric which I didn’t realize. Ended up paying more for a gas powered Haven’t got my final invoice through email yet which has me worried.

Check-in line was very slow. Once I got to an agent to get my car, they tried to sell me every insurance coverage under the sun. I had already purchased the collision liability, but that didn't stop them from trying to sell it to me. Second, the Toyota Rush I got was extremely basic. It only had a lock and unlock on the remote, no button to release the back hatch. The back hatch button on the outside of the car worked sporadically. Like they say, if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
