Discount for school families, able to change arrival date on short notice, very comfortable beds,
Lack of email confirmation, fine print about 48 hour cancellation, rather than advertised 24 hour. Central reservations could not make changes, had to wait for front desk to open to make changes, Reservation # different from Best Western central reservations #, could NOT use online system to make changes, or find reservation Shower curtain poor quality, water everywhere. Soap, shampoo, coffee maker also poor grade. Highway noise, A/C noise not welcome
It was clean and comfy and the location was alright.
Everything's was fine.
All of the vending machines were broken and not functioning properly as well as the ice machine on our floor. I was not able to get a bottle of water to save my life. The building is very dated and the hallways are squeaky. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on in all rooms especially when walking down hall.
I like that I have stayed there consistently almost monthly over two years and it is so familiar for both me and my family.
I don't like that consistently they don't uphold their word. This time, for example, in spite of their comparatively high summer rate, even into Mid-September, my having called the hotel to request my same room as always, when I arrived, the only way they could accommodate me in a courtyard room was in a handicapped room, which, frankly, was definitely subpar to our usual room: the bathroom was smaller and more uncomfortable. Staff rarely goes above and beyond to help.
Architecture is really nice
Pillows were not comfortable
Much better prices than staying in Santa Barbara and Carpinteria is a cute, authentic, old time beach town. Everything is walkable from this location.
