JAL is a flawless airlines. Perfect customer service. On-time boarding, clean airlines, and incomparable in-flight dining.

It was one of the best experiences. The staff were amazing. JAL is my second favorite Asian Carrier I have flown on. Korean Air was my first. Thank you JAL for bringing me home safely and for such an amazing staff and service.

JAL is quite nice in business class. Comfortable, spacious seats. Their entertainment, especially their film selection, isn’t that great though as their are not many new releases like some airlines offer their first and business class customers. . Food is excellent and the option to order on demand is always quite nice, which JAL offers. Flight attendants were very friendly and kind. Overall very good experience with JAL.

Very comfortable unlike my first trip where they switched my flight from JAL to AA which was a disaster!

1 hour late for unknown reasons. Passengers were not told why. We sat in the plane, I felt the 7 hour flight turned into an 8 hour flight.

They layover in Japan was too long , it took 11 hours.

I didn’t get to make my flight due to some serious inconvenience ( got in a car crash o the way to the airport AND phone got stolen at the airport). I tried to check in online 24 hours in advance but they said it wouldn’t work online I had to do it in person. I got to the airport about 50 minutes before with my TSA pre, and they said they have up our seats on the flight already. Which was horrible. My sister and I missed spreading my grandfathers ashes in India with my family and was not able to celebrate his life. I spent a lot of my money on this and there nobody seems to be able to do anything. Just an all around horrible situation. I don’t think I will be using kayak and recommending to anyone if it is going to be like this.

Boarding was quick and efficient, and despite leaving a bit late we landed right on time. The crew were friendly and helpful. Seat was comfortable and sufficient too: 2-4-2 in economy is much better and more family-friendly than the cramped 3-3-3 formation used by other airlines. The only problem was that dinner was not served until 2+ hours into the 9 hour flight. This meant it was gone midnight destination time before the service was concluded and the cabin lights were turned off, leaving us only about 4 hours in which to sleep.

I requested a vegetarian meal, and somehow that wasn’t processed from Japan airlines to the new carrier American Airlines when it was on the ticket. Don’t know if that was KAYAK or Japan air or American Airlines. But the crew scrounge together something for me and that was very good. Also I think American has the tiniest seats in the industry. It’s kind of annoying but it got me from .8 point B and now I’m at point B on the final point at LAX. I had to leave the airport and then go back through security to catch my next plane. I’ve never had to do that before. It was very annoying.

Consider adding “N/A” to some review options. This flight had no food or entertainment.

I cancelled the flights in good time but could only get a partial refund. I was not warned of this.

Not good. Flight was purchased for my father who needed medical assistance to board and transfer due to a heart condition. No one at Hong Kong from Cathay was there to assist and he barely made the connection. When I talked to him he could barely breath and was not sure he was going to make it. Really poor service even though the ticket stated he needed a wheelchair assistance.

The boarding experience was as expected and went well. The plane's economy seating plan is not designed for a positive customer experience but rather for company profit. When the passenger in front of me reclined, the distance from the screen to my face was the span of my hand (thumb tip to pinky fingertip). There is no such thing as personal space in this setting. This results in the domino effect, for when I recline the person in back of me reclines and so it goes. This is not to say that reclining is the answer as the experience is not increased, but simply managed.

While I was in great pain, the seat was sufficiently comfortable to allow me to rest and not be in so much pain.

Very poor check-in experience, and flight meal service was very disappointing with no drinks service or hot meal.

Not impressed with check in desk staff at Vancouver airport. Not a professional mind service and not cared or tried to help. Don’t think I would fly with them again

Seats were very comfortable. Crew were excellent. Food very good.

Flight crew was especially thoughtful and attentive, made sure our seats were comfortable so we could rest on the long flight

One of the worst flight in business class by qatar airways and I’m no stranger with qatar airways businesses class, I travelled with the extensively in the past 12 years

Very comfortable flights. Not so many new releases in terms of films.

2 failed landing attemps before going to Nagoya airport for refueling. After 3 hours of taxiing, we still needed 3 attemps before a succeeded landing (after the 5th attempt finally!). In total, 11 hours inside the plane instead of 4h30, and with only a crappy piece of bread to feed us. A shame.

Pros: "No IFE without warning. 16 hrs. of nothing. very uncomfortable seats. Flight admits HKA going under and can not pay bills, customers suffer."
Cons: "No IFE without warning. 16 hrs. of nothing. very uncomfortable seats. Flight admits HKA going under and can not pay bills, customers suffer."
Pros: "This airline is going out of business in the US. They have had great fares from LAX to Hong Kong and Bangkok. It seems the airline has been mismanaged or has had political restraints despite always being full. I was lucky to purchase the last roundtrip flight LAX HKG BKK before the online bookings were pulled for the LAX route. Hence, my flight to HKG and the return to LAX were empty flights, which is such a loss for an already dying airline. The crew were still polite and hardworking unlike US airlines."
Cons: "Now you cant fly LAX or SFO to Asia on this airline. Bezos or Gates should buy the airline."
Pros: "New aircraft"
Cons: "There was no entertainment at all for the entire 15 hours."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "It could have been business class like kayak sold me"
Pros: "Horrible."
Cons: "Everything was wrong and kayak knew they were selling me a scam ticket."
Pros: "The attitude of the crew was not acceptable. They are mean and rude to paying guest. The service was unacceptable. It was a cheap airfare and you also get cheap service. First time I flew with this airlines and It was super disappointment that I got from the crew. The airplane was newer but they could be better. They can learn better service from other airlines I booked with. Also, better quality of overall experience."
Cons: "Better touches on the seats, more cleanliness, doing it rightly than cheaply and most of all they should learn SERVICE from other airlines. Not because I bought a cheap fare does not mean we deserve a rude and mean service from the crew!"
Pros: "The female flight attendants were great. For some reason the male flight attendants had a sour face all the time and were unfriendly. Entertainment and comfort were good. Plenty of selections and decent leg room."
Cons: "Boarding could have been more organized, but I think half of the fault belongs to Hong Kong Airport. The boarding in LAX and Bangkok were good. The food was extremely low quality (fatty, muscle, tendon, skin, bone chips in the "meat"). Bad food, even for plane food."
Pros: "Food."
Cons: "I wish the staff need to smile and have to let the kids quite."
Cons: "The cabin was very cold. A little warmer would have been nice."

Captain smooth landing, Crew efficient and helpful. We saw Mt Fuji from the plane. Thanks.

On time and smooth flight from San Juan direct to Sint Maarten.

Just to be expected on a budget airline. Since all the flights were either late on the evening it would help to offer some food for purchase Since you tourists cannot buy decent food withoit local vaccination record in hong Kong this would really to help Using phone to submit electronic data is great but for the elderly this is a hassle

Flight cancelled without notidication, had to book an emergency replacement flight at the counter

Cons: "We should have been allowed to sit near our family (wives). There was empty row but they wanted to charge us to move up. Ridiculous!!"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "The flight took forever to land. Pilot said prepare for descent and we stayed in the air for another forty minutes. The air smelled awful. One of the worst flights I’ve ever taken."
Pros: "I was able to purchase extended seat room for a reasonable price."
Cons: "No free drinks or entertainment or anything to help pass the flight time."
Cons: "Staff at check-in counter were not helpful. They were there and they weren't. We were there at the front while two of the counters were ready but didn't call us up. They were chatting with each other instead. We I asked them are they ready to work, she ask me where was I heading. What is the difference?"
Pros: "Price was good and HK to Tokyo times were good"
Cons: "No entertainment on 5 hour flight"
Pros: "Nothing in particular."
Cons: "They don't tell you that 1) you aend up paying more than other airlines charge by the time you add various 'extras'; and 2) you have to go through immigration because they are in another terminal. This means two hours of work, plus I missed my flight because I didn't have 3 hrs. They said my fault."
