Cons:

Got there to pick up my scheduled pickup to find out they had no vehicles available. I made this reservation days in advance. She tried to call aroumd no vehicles at any of their locations. Then offered a vehicle that had a broken seal to the door so if it would rain it would leak in the car. The reception was rude. Calked to get my money back so I can go to enterprise was told would take 5 business days for my money to be returned!!!!! I ended up getting a vehicle from enterprise service was great!!!

Van stopped on me a mile from the place. Call roadside service it took 2 hours to send me someone. Then the they finally came it was a pop a lot car, I was in the car I needed a toll truck. The guy tried to jump start the van he couldn’t find the battery my God. The guy at the desk was not friendly at all after all that he didn’t say sorry that happened. God bless him

I thought it was pricey but it was the cheapest option, so could just be that I don’t rent card very often.

They need to make it explicitly clear (online and at rental kiosk) that they do not accept Debit cards so we don’t wait an hour in line at the airport only to find out that I can’t rent a car when I finally speak to the employee.

I received a phone call 2 hours before my reservation advising me that there would not be a car available. The person on the phone said they were expecting a truck in 4 hours but didn’t want to promise anything. Also said I should call back later when she was off. I called at 5:45pm to get an update. Was left on hold for 21 minutes and then hung up on. I drove over there and saw at least 10 cars in the C slots. Once I got to the counter, there was no one there and they said “it was first come first served” When I pointed out that I WAS FIRST - my reservation was an hour earlier and no one else was there, all of a sudden there was a car available.

Car was dirty with food on steering wheel and center counsel windows were so dirty I had to pull over and wife a circle so I could see out of it. Vehicle was supposed to be Covid-19 safety sanitized with a sticker and no such thing. Also I reserved a SUV and ended up in an Nissan Altima and told “oh well it’s all we have”

Flight arrived late, but a National staff person was still at their desk, despite it being after their normal hours. The pickup and return were very efficient and quick, though they can have somewhat of a long line at busy times--so plan accordingly.

I drove all the way to Lafayette to pick up my rental and the employee at the desk wouldn’t allow me to pick up the SUV. Apparently a major CC was needed, bank card not accepted for SUV. However, this information was not listed online or in the fine print of the rental when I booked. I offered to provide a major CC via phone since I did not bring one with me, the employee said they had to swipe it b/c they use an “old swiper”…which you can still manually type in card info. She also spoke about running a major CC to verify my associated flight, I said I didn’t book a flight, she replied, “exactly, that’s why I need a major CC.” Nothing made any sense. I can understand rules but that employee was awful! I asked if they could pull other rental locations away from the airport to see if they had available van or suv and she refused. She stated that a major CC would be needed for a van too. I drove 30 miles back to my home and booked directly with Enterprise and then drove all the way back to Lafayette. The entire process delayed my family’s vacation by 6 hours and it turns out I did not need a major CC to rent a van. National/Enterprise/Alamo - your employee at the Lafayette airport on the morning of September 1, 2022 is what gives companies a bad reputation. She was not helpful, contradicted herself a few times, rude and lazy. I won’t be renting from this location in the future, it wasn’t worth the 4 hour hassle. I also ended paying an additional $400, as my booking was not guaranteed when I picked up from a new location. An $800 rental became a $1200 rental.

I really liked Neshanda (maybe I misspelled her name). Very helpful. Helped me get another vehicle since the mini van I reserved was not there.

Cons:

I hate not getting the vehicle I reserved on line. You showed a mini van but that is not what I got. Why do you ALWAYS bait and switch? I do not think I have ever gotten the exact vehicle I have reserved. Why?????

Not much of anything about the rental.

Cons:

Car was dirty in inside. Scratches all over outside of car. Brakes made noise because of a needed brake job, and the car had 40k miles on it. Worse rental I had in years.

I booked a Suburban or similar. Was called the day before and was asked if a mini van would be ok. I said yes. When we got there we got a Cheverolet Traverse. Not at all big enough for the people and luggage we had. Very disappointed!
