This hotel was disgusting! We reserved two rooms, both non-smoking, but both rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. One of the rooms had a red stain on the sheets, dirt on the bathroom towels and the fridge didn't work so we lost food that we left in there over night. We got up really early so we could leave as soon as possible. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I know.
The building definitely shows its age. Our room was by no means dirty, but there was lots of wear-and-tear. Fridge, microwave, TV, fixtures, A/C were basically functional, but nowhere near 100%. Repairs to walls and roof were very rough.
Very nice. Enjoyed our stay. Clean and neat. Close to lots of places to eat. Will stay here next time.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel is older, and it's age shows. It is an ok hotel to stay at but I would not recommend it for a family with small children.
Easy access from highway, people were nice and friendly.
Upon arrival at this hotel there was no one working at the front desk. After 5 minutes of saying 'Hello Hello' I had to call from cell phone to get someone to come to the desk. When entering our room the smell was strong of mold and mildew. Upon inspection of the room, it was obvious there had been water damage to the ceiling and it was painted over. After more inspection, I noted old green potatoe chips on the floor and Blood spattered on the wall next to the bed....thought at first it was paint, but when I wiped it with a wet cloth...it came off. Definitely blood!!! I reported the problems to the company which I booked with and they contacted the front desk. I was told to go to the front desk and they would have keys for another room. When arriving to the front desk, the clerk was helping others, so I waited for her to finish. While waiting she throws the keys on the desk and said there are your keys. As I tried to explain the problems that I had with the room, she rudely interrupted me and said she already had my complaints and that I could talk to the owner. She then again said, there are your keys. She was a very 'Rude' person!! The new room was better but not great. I really wanted to leave and stay somewhere else, but I knew that my money would NOT be refunded!!! And I had no other funds to cover another hotel. I have stayed at LaQuinta's in the past and have never had such an experience!!! Not sure if I will ever stay at another...and I will 'Never' stay at this one again!!!!
This is a great deal. Folks were friendly. The room was neat and clean. Lots fo places to eat near bye. This was a very good deal and we will be going back.
We were pleased that everyone's reviews were correct. This was a stopover on our way to Florida. The room was clean and quite spacious. There were two double beds and a pull out couch.
Really clean, spacious room. Also have microwave and refrigarator in there. In the morning hot waffle is good. The front desk person asked me at the checkin time if i need anything during my stay just let him know. Good Service.
Very nice, clean and extra large room with friendly staff and service. Will stay again here.
Excellent hotel, great amenities, extremely helpful staff and very clean.
Freindly Staff, Clean and nice Room. I will be going back there.
Spent 3 nights here on business last week. Quiet, very roomy, excellent A/C. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff. Will stay here again on next visit to Decatur.
Nice, clean, pretty new room at a good price. Accepted our 70 pound dog - no problem. The do it yourself waffles at breakfast were great. The rest of breakfast was ok. Our room was right next to the entrance to the outside - the door closer needed to be replaced and was quite loud until the other guests settled in for the night. We enjoyed doing the walking tour of the Decatur historic district - Free maps at the vistor center. Good way to stretch your legs.
Decent value for the price and a very good location. However, if you aren't available when the housekeepers come by, you have to get your own linen and the room won't get cleaned. There are better hotels nearby, and next time I will try one of them.
Had room upstairs (no elevator - had to lug our bags up the stairs). The room had plaster falling off the walls. The toilet was not fastened to the floor so was unsafe to use. Used second rate food for their breakfast - did not taste good at all.We are glad we only had to spend the one night otherwise we would have found a different hotel
