First, this is not a hotel, it's a bed and breakfast. Second, no taxi's know where it is and we got literally robbed by the taxi driver. Third, we had a private bathroom, but it was located on another floor. You have to walk down tiny steps that are very steep in the middle of the night if you need to use the bathroom. I was traveling with my elderly parents, the stairs were extremely dangerous and the owner did not care. He treated me as though I was just complaining rather than that I had real concerns about my parents walking up and down 3 flights of very steep small stairs. In the end, he cared more about money than safety.
Excellent English breakfast!!
Initially we were put into a room for three which didn't have its own bathroom. The shared bathroom was one floor down. Don't expect a buffet breakfast; it's made personally by the owner and is nothing notable. In one instance we received moldy bread as toast. Apparently the "hotel" was an abandoned three storey house that was bought for little and converted into a B&B. The taxi driver that delivered us confirmed that he remembers the house being vacant for a long time previously. It is in a residential neighborhood undergoing gentrification. Aside from the bathrooms, it seems that little was done other than a fresh painting, to bring the house into it's present state. This should be classified as a B&B with no stars.
The staff were very friendly and the owner very personable, the room was very comfortable and the entire place had a pleasant and individual style to it often missing from other hotels. The en-suite bathroom was well appointed and clean, and the breakfast was excellent. It also has a very nice, private garden.
There was a radio-alarm clock in my room that wasn't plugged in and had no instructions for how to use it if you did. There was also another clock but this had no battery in it. If they just hadn't been there this wouldn't have been an issue, but having a clock that doesn't work is utterly pointless!
The reasons I've chosen this hotel are-proximity to Heathrow airport and bed with canopy. I liked also the full english breakfast prepared by the owner of the hotel himself.
The room was tiny and bathroom was really awful, it looked like a gym shower despite the room was allegedly a honemoon suit.
Proximity to Heathrow, good breakfast, good quality linen in bedroom
Wonderful room. Best full English breakfast we ever had. The pot of tea offered to us when we arrived was really appreciated after a busy day of touring. Free parking is a plus. Proximity to Heathrow was great. Proximity to eating establishments within walking distance was good.
The Manager, Dean was an excellent host. The hotel was well presented & the room was clean, comfortable & the faciliities were excellent. The hotel is only 130m from the Feltham train station so is in a brilliant location to get to London city & Heathrow Airport. There is also a bus service just up the road that runs every 10 min to Heathrow. All in all a great stay.
Dean was a pleasant host. The place was fantastic and clean. I hope I get stuck in London again so I can stay at the Ambassador one more time.
Informality, very comfortable, very friendly. The owner has taken a lot of time and put thought in to the overall design and feel of the place. Each room is individual.
Maybe a bit over-priced for where it is and for local amenities available.
