The hotel was nice and the view was gorgeous. There were multiple events going on at the hotel, but it did not affect the quality of our stay. The only problem was the internet was not free. It costs 10.00 a day for the internet, and it cost 15.00 a day to park in the hotel garage. I could not believe I had to pay to park at the hotel I was staying in.
There was a big event in the hotel one evening and, as a result, the hotel restaurant was closed. The bar was available for dinner (an abbreviated version of the full dinner menu) which worked out all right - the service and staff were excellent, food was very good. I would have preferred the ambiance of a restaurant however. Dining in the bar is just not my idea of a lovely dinner. I do wish that the hotel had made me (and all guests) aware of this early that day so that I knew what to expect.
I hated the fact that you had to pay for any and everything there. The computer center costs, parking costs, wifi - EVERYTHING; it was crazy! Not only that, when we first check into the room the bed was very squeaky but the room was very clean and nice. I called the front desk attendant and told her that the bed would not do and she acted as if we were inconveniencing her! I could not believe it. I will never go back to this hotel again.
Very close to the Galleria and the interstate. The staff was very firendly and they did not give us trouble with checking in early.
My son and grandsons attended two Astros games and stayed in this convenient hotel. We visited the Galleria during the day and attended the games at night. There was constant excitement in the hotel and everyone including staff seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. It was a very positive experience.
As an able-bodied single man I notice I get put in handicapped rooms a fair amount, particularly when they're pre-paid discounts. This shouldn't make a great deal of difference, and has some advantages--wider entryways, for example. On the other hand, low clothes hanger racks and hand-held showers are things I can do without. That being said, my one-night stay at this Hilton was perfectly fine--the check-in was quick and courteous, and the room quiet upstairs despite a buzz of activity on the ground floor (including a large wedding reception) the night I stayed there. Drawbacks were an overactive air-conditioning system that chilled the room to freezing until I finally just turned it off, and an exorbitant price for room internet access. The location of the hotel is convenient to the Galleria, Loop 610 and a host of other restaurants and shops.
Great location and ammenities. Loved full kitchen and balcony. Only complaint was furniture in living room was disgusting.
Great location as close to the gAlleria and other great shopping. Bathroom was very large and nice. The bed was the best I've seen for a long time. The sheets were clean and crisp! Great place to stay in Houston.
This will not be a glowing review, so I wanted to start it out by saying the staff was pleasant, courteous and helpful. Now for everything else. The mini-bar was turned off. I don't use them, but found it odd that there was a note that stated it was turned off because they were in the process of installing new televisions. (What?) The television was OLD, so it is a good thing they are installing new ones. I hope they also look into their cable connections during the upgrades because our picture was constantly in and out. Fuzzy. Completely unacceptable. Maid Service - I cannot speak directly to the cleaning staff because we never met any. During our 5 night stay, no one stopped by our room. They tell you they will only change the bedding once every three days, but to not even stop by and make the bed/leave clean towels/etc? The hallway on our floor must not have been cleaned the entire time either, because the same dead spider and a plastic clip were in plain view on the floor during our entire stay. Dining - The food is tasty, but VERY expensive. The breakfast buffet is nice, but it cost $49 plus tip for two people. No vending machines, but you can buy a $3 bottle of pop at the hotel store. WiFi - $10.95 per 24 hours. Seriously? Days Inn gives it away for free, but Hilton charges? Skip the fee. Go to the lobby and connect to the HHonors network. It will give you a free, 24-hour connection. That free connection will also work in your room. After 24 hours you will get a prompt to start paying. Go back to the lobby, log in again and get another 24 hours at no cost. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Great bed and room no questions asked on that. Guy at the front desk was stuck up. I went to get their breakfast buffett, which was way overpriced, not the best quality of food. Food didn't taste very fresh for the price I paid. Wait staff was stuck up too.
Service staff is great, never received a no for an answer and got help everytime we needed it. Perfect location, very close to the Galleria in a ver nice neighborhood. Will need a car though (will be needed mostly anywhere because of the city size) but if you don't have a car the hotel will provide free transportation anywhere within 3 miles. The only downsides: Parking is a bit expensive ($*USD per day for guests) & our room minibar made a lot of noise. Great value for money, would stay again anytime.
I have to say that this was one of my worst experiences. When you leave a hotel and the only good experience you had was the valet parking and the room service something is wrong. The house keeping during our stay was pretty much nothing. Seems they have no idea what it takes to clean a room, such as removing trash and replacing towels and wash clothes with clean ones. Even after mentioning it to the front desk the problems house keeping still failed to clean the room and provide fresh towels. The room looked like a make shift suite with the bathroom of the living area not off the bedroom. Looked allot like a upscale motel room is all. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This was a really nice hotel. Our room was nice. The water in the bathtub/shower ran out very slow. You could not use the shower back to back because of that problam. This hotel is close to the galleria. There are nice restuarants close by. Nice location. Parking is $ self park and $ valet per day. We will stay there again.
The room itself was OK and was clean. The beds were comfortable. My room was on the west side of the building with an alley outside (on the 6th floor). Twice during my visit the garbage truck came through at 2 AM and slammed the garbage bins very loudly. The sound proofing of the room was minimal.
This was my second stay in conjunction with the International Quilt Convention held annually at the George Bush Convention Center which is attached to the Hotel. Very convenient and hassel free. The Skyline Club restaurant was very good....a little over priced. We had reservatins at Spencers but it was cancelled because the kitchen exhaust was not operating. We had dinner at the Lobby Lounge where the burger was great. Same time next year.
